“Wished I found this on Day 1 of my Trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2012

I really wish I stumbled across Marlowe's on my first day in San Fran, b/c I would have been back many, many more times. Ate here for a late lunch before heading to SFO on 9/21. The restaurant was full at 1:30, but the hostess offered us a drink as we waited for a table to clear. Sat down and ordered the brussels chips, which were phenomenal; the right amount of meyer lemon and salt. We ate the entire bowl in 5 minutes.

I ordered the sweet corn soup - which was unbelievably good - everyone in the group tried it and loved the flavors. For an entree, ordered the crispy fried chicken sandwich, a great flavor combo with the aioli and the bacon. For sides, the table shared the mushrooms and the cauliflower, both were outstanding.

“Cozy, Casual, and Fun”

On your way to ATT Park, or using Caltrain, give this little place on Townsend St. a try. Original sandwich ideas, sides, and some Bay Area brews. It is a friendly place with delightful offerings.

“Great food, wonderful service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2012

Went in for a pre-game dinner, wearing baseball hats and sweatshirts. The rest of the customers were clearly business or local evening out types, but we were treated exactly the same and given excellent service. The food was great- had the Marlowe burger and corn bisque. This will definitely be a regular stop on our trips to the city.

“Fresh and delicious in a casual atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2012

An unassuming location right across from the Caltrain station and a few blocks from the ballpark. But, this isn't ballpark food. We enjoyed the burrata appetizer and the fried brussel sprouts (nice lemony touch). The warm deviled egg appetizer was unusual and totally yummy. The poulet vert and pork chop entrees were fantastic. Large portions of both - larger than I expect in a restaurant like this, not that I'm complaining! Quite a small dining room - reservations are required for a Saturday night. Nice wines by the glass and by the carafe. The strawberry crisp was very good but the bourbon ice cream that came with it was sensational.

“Good for casual biz lunch or night out with friends in SOMA”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2012

We came here for a casual biz lunch.
The Brussel sprout chips were good, bourbon almonds were addictive, but my fried chicken sandwich was just ok.
The desserts were strange. All our desserts were pretty much just cream/ pudding-like.
Also, the food overall was quite salty. I found myself guzzling water all afternoon
