A friend told us about this place and it was the best slice of pizza we had!!! Grab a slice and go to the park nearby on a nice day!

The most delicious, mouth searing slice of pizza in memory ... and I've lived a long life already. A beautiful spot right in front a SF style parklet that you can linger at as long as you want.

While nothing the issues with waiting and service, our experience was all positive. Yes, there was a 20 min wait---exactly as we were told when we arrived. Yes there was a single mistake with what we ordered---all sorted with a smile that added to a great outcome. Pizza was huge and tasty! Crust fantastic. Sauce prefect. Will return!!!

We learned about Tony's Pizza from a show on the Travel Channel. My 9-year-old son remembered it a couple of months later when we were planning our vacation to San Francisco. So Tony's went on the "places to eat" list for our family (2 adults, 1 kid).

We're very familiar with Neapolitan pizza and knew (from Tony's website) that they only make 73 margherita pies a day. They also make a lot of other styles of pizza (Sicilian, Romana, New York, and more), but we wanted a Neapolitan. (Actually we wanted 2!)

Our server was excellent. He was clearly very familiar with the menu and took time explaining the differences in the pizza styles. He suggested 2 pies for the 3 of us and 1 salad for my husband & me to share. We *could* have eaten 1 salad each, but there would have been less room for the pizza, so 1 salad to share was perfect.

I was a bit disappointed with our crust - it was a little more doughy than I prefer. But it was still very good.

The restaurant opens at 12:00 and there was already a line outside at 11:30 on a Sunday. I'd recommend trying to arrive as early as possible... or be prepared for a wait.

It can be an extremely long wait for a table at Tony's Pizza Napoletana, but there are lots of great little bars in the neighborhood to help you pass the time (the unrelated Tony Nik's is a favorite). The long wait is worth it, as the pizza is delicious.
