“Highly recommed”

Definitely for the pizza connoisseur. Had the "Little Italy" salad ($11) and the "New Yorker" pizza ($25). The salad was more than enough for at least two people (it is meant for sharing) and the pizza is also more than enough for two. We were two guys and stuffed ourselves and still had a slice left over. They offer pizzas of various styles and from ovens which are either electric, wood-fired, coal fired, or gas fired, depending on the style. (See menu above) If you have to wait for a table, ask for a menu while you wait, because there is a lot to take in.

“Margherita Masterpiece”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2013

What a fabulous place. You know you're on to a winner when there are people coming in and being told an hour and a half for a table, and they were prepared to wait. On a Thursday at 6 o'clock, we were told 40 minutes for a table for 2, and it was almost exactly 40 minutes. The staff know what they are doing.

We ordered deep fried string beans in garlic to start. They really shouldn't be that good - completely delicious. Next up, a spinach salad and one of Tony's award-winning Margherita pizzas. The ultimate accolade for the pizza is simply that my other half *never* eats pizza crust. She did at Tony's. It's just so, well, smooth. Nice bite to the crust, then soft, but not chewy. Really "melt in the mouth" stuff. Almost unimaginably good.

Staff were polite, efficient and didn't let us over-order (easy for Brits to do in the USA!) and the service was fairly quick, bearing in mind that the place was jammed to the rafters with locals chatting, drinking, eating and watchng sports on the two TV's in the bar.

It's a great atmosphere but was quite noisy and very busy, so don't think "intimate" unless you define that as being lost in a very happy and satisfied crowd.

As we were leaving Tony came out to chat to folks and introduce himself. A most charming host.

Summary: Top place. Top food. Top people. Go there. If you don't like it, send the leftovers to me - I'll pay the postage!

“Great pizza”

Tony's Pizza is great especially the Margarita and the New Yorker. Service is friendly and good. Had to wait over an hour for a table but the bartender was absolutely wonderful and very service oriented.

“Mediocre Food.. Horrible horrible service!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2013

We decided to go to this restaurant after reading a lot of reviews on trip advisor, most of which were positive. Upon arrival for a later afternoon lunch, we were promptly seated. The waiter took almost 15 minutes to take our order. This was only the beginning. To start off with the glass of wine was served in a regular water glass. When I complained, the waitress got me a wine glass and poured the wine into this glass, spilling 30% out of the glass in the process. Then she set the glass down on the table with a thud, spilling further wine on the table.

The food was mediocre. I have definitely had better pizzas elsewhere and they definitely shouldn’t cost as much as they do here. Their "award winning" Margherita pizza is priced at whopping $19.
When we asked for the check, the waitress literally threw it on the table. This is by far the worst dining experience I have ever had.
My wife and me decided not to leave a tip. About 30 seconds after we left the restaurant, my wife realized that she had left her sunglasses on the table. We went back in and it was nowhere to be found. The table had been cleared by then. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will avoid it like the plague.

“Great pizza and salad!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2013

Stopped here while visiting with friends in San Francisco...glad we did! Loved it! The food was fresh and really tasty, good selection of beer and wine. The salads were huge and delicious. Will definitely go back next time we're in San Francisco.
