“Poor service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2012

This wonderful venue is small enough to be intimate while being big enough to accommodate some great bands. We travelled to San Francisco to the UK specifically for a show here, and while we were thrilled with the bands, we found the staff to be pretty abrupt in their attitude. In short, this is a great venue which is let down by the intimidating and unhelpful events team.

Once we'd reached the front of the line, the aggressive staff on the door almost forced us to re-join at the end of the line again because we'd stopped to ask someone a question on the way in. We also had backstage passes, and none of the staff knew what we should do or where we should wait. In the end, after many conversations with rude and unhelpful people, we missed the opportunity to go backstage (an event we had travelled more than 5,000 miles for). The people who were left to pick up the pieces were apologetic, but it should never have happened in the first place.

“Awesome for live music”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2012

We were at the Warfield for Above and Beyond and were pretty impressed with the venue. It still has the feel of an old theater (beautiful) and the mixture of live performance and those soroundings was great.
Service was good, the place wasn't too crowded and it was pretty well organized.
Just watch yourself if you are walking to the warfield at night, it's pretty close to the Tenderloin and some streets look and feel very unsafe (Turk street specially). Stopping by Farmerbrowns (corner of Market st. And Turk) for a warm up while you wait for ghe gates to open is also a good idea.

“Comedy Show”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2012

We saw a great comedian here - the theater is beautiful and the show was great. However, walking to the theater on Market street was not the most pleasant and a beer was $10-15!

“Grand theater for live performances!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2011

This was my first visit to the Warfield Theater, although I'm a Bay Area resident 34 years. My nurse and I attended the very popular Erykah Badu and the Cannabanoids performance December 9th, 2011. As a disabled patron, these are my impressions.
First, it was a very great concert!! Management and floor personall treated us like VIP's! Two ushers escourted us through the crowd and seated us on the ground floor. This area was wheelchair accessable. Our table was near the stage, in close view. The sound system and lighting, excellent! A video on the side of the stage was themed and on beat with the music. Eryka Badu played with a band she has known 20 years. We were near the stairs to the pit. The management moved people away that blocked the view instantly. Only one other table was next to our's. The equiped bar was in the right corner of the pit. A waitress came around to take our order. It's a beautiful, ornate art decco theater that highlights the splendor of old downtown San Francisco. The whole experience was fantastic! I will try and go again!
