Owner description: Art deco decor and a jukebox full of classic opera favorites round out the sophisticated atmosphere at this oh-so-trendy North Beach favorite.

Cool old-time saloon. It has an old, divey feel. The cocktails are made very well. This place didn't fill up as fast as most of the restaurants in North Beach. It feels like it has a lot of history and stories. And, honestly if you just walk by you'd never know it was there.

OK, well I suppose if you do it will stop it being transformed into a strip club or something awful, I don't hate strip clubs but really, that would be a crime.

This is a For Real, Old Skool, prohibition style bar, the House Cappachino is amazing and the bar staff (more like expert drinks waiters) great.

If I didn't live 7,000 miles away in Australia this would be my local, great job guys - please don't change a thing. I'll be back.

Expresso martini - best ever! Cool and fresh with coffee beans as an accent! Packed with San Francisco nightlife as an active and fun place to hang with friends. Bartenders were friendly and efficient!

Ok, I grew up in San Francisco so I am already prejudiced, however I've been going to Tosca for decades and it's always, always memorable. The best part is that nothing changes except the ages of the customers. The original jukebox is only slightly younger than the building; you put your money in, and magically an ancient version of an aria from Tosca fills the room

Their famous silver cappuccino machine looks like the conning tower of a submarine, complete with wheels, knobs and steam. Everything here is top-notch and welcoming; there are no strangers at the bar - only new friends.

On my last visit I learned that there will be some changes in the near future. Jeanette Etheredge the most recent owner (and mother of my daughter's nursery school friend, Deven) is moving on and new owners will take over. Hopefully the new owners won't make too many changes, especially with my favorite thing in the entire bar.

There's a sign hanging on the wall over the bar that says "Whatever you are, be a good one."
That's excellent advice to anyone.

This place is everything you want in a bar. Good strong and cheap drinks, interesting but not annoying bartender and a most outstanding record playing jukebox where songs are only 25 cents. Yes, please!
