“Nice calm place...!”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

Its a good location to capture golden gate photos.... If you are lucky enough to have completely visible golden gate then you can really capture few closeups with the bridge in background. Other than the photo spot, its a cool walking trail along the waterside...

“Popular and scenic way to enjoy the Bay....”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

We only walked part of this loop along the promenade, however it will certainly be on our ‘must repeat’ list next visit (4.3mls including part of Mason St), Walkers. joggers, rollerbladers' and cyclists of all ages covered virtually every square inch of pathway on the Saturday we were there. Everyone could pass easily but were like ants on a mission to the picnic table - it’s that popular!

Our start point was the parking area near Fort Point then we walked along this gravel like pathway past the breakwater to the warming hut/café then as far as West Bluff picnic area and turned back. It’s a delightful way to see the city skyline, watercraft, bird life and if you listened hard enough, you heard the bark of seals floating along on the breeze.

Enjoy your experience!

“Cool Sunset”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

the sun setting to the west of the Golden Gate Bridge was awesome! it was very windy as usual but walking out on the pier was quite an experience. Locals were fishing for crabs and happy to show you their haul. Free parking with a pathway down to the water - great spot for a relaxing but windy way to see another view of the city.

“Walk This Way if You're by the Bay”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

This broad, mostly dirt trail for walkers, runners, rollerbladers, and bicyclists passes along the shoreline of San Francisco Bay. Part of a longer regional trail, it extends the entire length of Crissy Field, then past Fort Point and up to the Golden Gate Bridge. Along its course, it passes a salt marsh, beaches, aircraft hangars, coastal gun emplacements, and more. It affords superb views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands, Alcatraz Island, and the city’s Marina District, and points beyond — so bring a camera. There are rest facilities at Fort Point. This 4.3 mile round-trip trail makes a great afternoon walk and a short and easy bike ride.

“a lovely stroll”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

The golden gate promenade is a stretch of dirt path, shrubbery and beach from Fisherman's Wharf to Fort Point at the Golden Gate Bridge. It takes you all the way along the bay to the bridge. The long sandy beach is popular with windsurfers and lots of kite flyers too. From the beach there's a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Dogs are allowed on the beach too, so you can take your pooch along for the stroll. Great photo opportunities. You could walk the promenade, or rent a bike and go for a ride. A really lovely walk
