The weather is usually pretty good on Fillmore Street (hello, microclimates!). The area up by Geary Street is a bit seedier; the trendy shops are between Sacramento and Broadway.

North from Sutter Street, Fillmore Street is a wonderfully vibrant and quirky shopping and dining mecca. Hip retail stores and cozy cafes abound and the scene is fun and funky. Buy a coffee at Peet's and just enjoy a weekend stroll.

many years ago Fillmore Street was a hotbed of music. it's being revived with several venues where you can see lots of music. this isn't a place to tour. It's a place to go see music. LOTS of music!

One of the best street to hang out in San Francisco. Many fun shops and excellent restaurants. Close from Japan Town, so you can do both in the same time if you are visiting and exploring.

On this street you'll go from the low income to the highest income neighborhoods in just a few blocks but it's funky rich and I love going to the thrift stores and neat hardware stores. It's a Poodles & Pit Bulls kinda place. Worth strolling the length of it.
