despite the preponderance of french artist and sculptors, this tidy collection spans across centuries of art with representatives of almost all the ages... i am always overwhelmed by museums of national gallery or metropolitan stature. they always leave behind an unfulfilled feeling. this one won't - i assure you and you can see it all. the porcelein collection is wonderful.

We came to see the Anders Zorn exhibit and we are so glad we did. His watercolor paintings were wonderful.

A much better art-museum than I had, ignorantly, expected. I'm not sure why I assumed it would not be so impressive, as I was surely proved wrong, in a big way! A great collection of artwork from around the world, and great featured exhibits! A must-see for art-lovers. The largest collection of Rodin sculptures I've seen.

I'd never heard of Zorn, but the collection was excellent. The Matisse exhibits were a nice counterpoint. Plus, we always enjoy the flower arrangements.

We opted to walk around, rather than go inside. Rodan's The Thinker is outside and free to view. The views of the bay are also wonderful to take in.
There is ample parking on the streets, but you'll need to hunt for a spot if it's busy.
