Reminiscent of an American presidential library, the Walt Disney Family Museum boasts a vast displayed collection of archives and primary source materials concerning the life, artistry and business affairs of the great Walt Disney. Arranged chronologically, the museum focuses on Walt's artistic (/business) career and it does so in a manner that is both fascinating and undeniably impressive. (Relying on photos, videos, letters, and text, the multimedia setup offers an attention-keeping conveyance of the story of Walt Disney.
In the lobby prior to the gallery entrance, one can see (for free) the many many awards bestowed upon the near mythic figure over the course of his lifetime. No one (perhaps save Shakespeare) can lay claim to so great an impact on the world of entertainment as Walt and the museum is a testament to that. And I needn't remind you that he did so in a way that was fun but also moving and real, and the museum reflects that as well.
I recommend stopping in. Discounts available for AAA and military gets in free with their families.
