Loved the progression of Walt Disney and the Disney products and films as you walk through this family friendly, interactive museum. Make sure you take a minute and play with the sound effects!

This is a very interesting museum with wonderful artefacts and pictures. The museum is designed in such a way that you are revealed different parts of the museum gradually. This museum isn't best for children because it's more of a biography of Walt's life.
Brilliant!
There is a free bus hourly from the financial district to the museum which helps too.

Can you believe it? As Disney fans that we are, my wife and I took the time and trouble to go to the Museum with our 20-month-old, upon our visit to San Francisco. Upon our entrance, a lady at the ticket desk, Lynda, told us with an unpleasant air (so unlike all things Disney that it stood out), that strollers were not allowed in the premises - no further explanation given - and that we could check ours in the coatroom downstairs. Our baby, who had been calmly and quietly resting in his stroller, became awoken and active as is to be expected from toddlers his age. Bottom line: 15 minutes later it became evident to us that we wouldn't be able to enjoy our visit to the museum and take care of our very active toddler at the same time.

Other attendants at the Museum were much friendlier. At the coatroom, I asked an attendant why the stroller wasn't allowed. The reason given was that on crowded days, strollers would get in the way with wheelchairs and block the passage of everyone else. So wheelchairs are allowed in, but not strollers. I could sense that the attendant felt awkward to have to give me this reason, since my visit took place on a very quiet weekday in March.

The Museum and its treasures may be great - But we didn't get to see any of it. After about 20 minutes we walked back to the ticket desk, desisted and refunded.

Bottom line: the Disney Family Museum is not really accessible for toddlers, unless you want to break your back while carrying them as they cry incessantly, for lack of their strollers.

We are Disney fans and this was a great history of Disney family. It is funded by Disney family foundation so lots of behind the scenes info. Great exhibits and interactive displays. Expect to spend 2 to 3 hours here!

This is a remarkable museum about the man, Walt Disney. It is a ten 'stage' or 'rooms' that are about his life and what a remarkable man he was. A nice journey of how a man of humble beginnings creates an empire and how many lives have been touched by his influence. Only one room is devoted to Disneyland. You can also get a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Make reservations or by tickets ahead of time.
