“Great place for lunch, delicious pork sandwich.”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

Their slow-cooked pork shoulder sandwich was absolutely delicious, you have to try that! The carrot soup is good, but you can skip it and get the a full size sandwich instead!
At lunch time, expect a line-up; if you arrive before noon the wait time is not bad. Once you place your order and paid, you get a number. You can just sit on a table nearby and they will bring your meal. It may be difficult to find a table neary past noon though, unless you have friends to keep the seats while you wait in line.

“Great lunch”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

As long as you are not in a hurry, this is a great spot and was well worth the wait. Wide range of sandwiches and other options--I had an Umbrian lentil/brown rice/fried egg dish that was outstanding. Table space is limited at the lunch rush hour. We tourists were obviously competing with the local workers from the Financial District. Great view of Bay Bridge from deck area,

“Awesome Sandwiches”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

My husband and I had our final lunch in San Francisco at Il Cane Rosso, and it was a great choice. We shared a pulled pork with lime sandwich and a warm egg salad sandwich - both were divine! The only reason I give it four instead of five stars is that it's pretty expensive... $26 for a beer and two sandwiches at a counter service restaurant (plus they wanted $5.50 for chips?!?). Still, it was super delish.

“il Cane Rosso...I'll be back!”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

Lovely experience at the Il Cane Rosso! A carafe (or two!) of wine, yummy popcorn (two bowls so delish!) and yummy food! The waiter was super nice and the place was great to watch the bay bridge light 'art'. It appeared that the people of il Cane Rosso really loved what they did and you could tell in the details- loved the clipped on menus and table cloths. I would definitely revisit when at/around the Ferry Building, but I wouldn't make it a San Francisco destination restaurant.

“Quick, high quality food”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

This spot has generally high quality food, and a nice outdoor patio area that is great for people watching over a beer in summer time. They use a lot of fresh ingredients from local farms and from within the market itself.
