Description: Fresh house-made pasta, wood-fired pizza, house-cured meats. It’s all about simple and authentic Italian food rooted in the south, executed with skill, expertise and old world standards of care. The defining goal of the restaurant for its ambiance and style of service is to make everyone feel welcome. "We feel very strongly about creating a ‘come as you are’ atmosphere in the restaurant."

“Cool Restaurant in San Francisco”

This restaurant is really cool looking. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food really good. We had a pizza as an appetizer that was delicious and then a couple of pasta dishes that were also very good. It is a great place to go with friends and have a good time.

“All this hype and for what?”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

Perhaps the most poorly prepared pasta I have ever tasted. We have spent extensive time touring Italy and know good Italian food from bad. We invited an Italian friend visiting SF to share and showcase this celebrated name. All i can say was this was an embarrassment from his reaction. There is nothing charming or refined about the ambiance, the service (super grungy) or the pretentious and poorly executed dishes. Even the wine list was minimalist to say the least. Feel sorry for those who wait for hours to get a communal table here. San Francisco has better Italian places without any of this fuss. This is not a special event/romantic occasion gem.

“Food and atmosphere but not extraordinary”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

The idea of having places in the restaurant for non- reservation is great. We waited for an hour with a glass of wine for a place at the bar. The food and wine were very good but not exceptional and for sure not worth the hour wait. The the service by the bar tender woman was one of a kind.

“Worth every minute of the wait!”

I wish I had a bigger appetite! The pasta was out of this world. Piping hot and full of texture and flavour. The mixed pork roast could convert a Muslim. Great wine list and brilliant desserts. Wow!

“Unpretentious quality. Go here!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Fabulous handmade everything. Pasta, meats, desserts; they're all creative and beyond what i could hope to make at home...the tastes leave you wondering 'how did they do that?'
Cozy interior, comfortable, excellent wait service, Italian wines, smallish menu but good for both meat and veg people alike. Favorite dishes: pizza cooked in their woodfired oven; handmade ravioli with pork and greens (light tender dumplings in a parlsey butter sauce), deconstructed cake with carrot ice cream. Worth a reservation - or check in midweek early before the line starts for the tables that don't require a reservation.

A tad noisy with the music they play - but everything else is so good one kind of forgets about it.
