We decided to eat dinner in Chinatown. From our motel n Lombard St. we took Bus No. 30 and exited at Stockton and Clay Street. A student on the bus had recommended this restaurant when I asked her for a place with good food, good service and a Chinese family-style ambiance. She told me to walk one or two blocks downhill from Stockton St., then take stairs to the basement location of the restaurant. We were not disappointed: there were young and old Chinese guests there in a large and nice-looking room. We were offered two tables for six persons each and handed menus in English and Chinese letters. The waiters were friendly and efficient. The food was great and rather inexpensive.
