The Belli Building is San Francisco Landmark number 9. It was built originally in1849 and was destroyed by fire in 1851. It was immediately rebuilt.
It was originally known as Langerman'sTobacco and Sugar Warehouse and then as the Melodeon Theater.
In 1849 Melvin Belli, an important attorney during the gold rush period, purchased the building and it became his law offices.
I visited the building during my walk in San Francisco Financial District (January 2020).
