“Traditional Chinese Eatery”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013

Tucked away upstairs but very easy to find. A bit café like but they all are in Chinatown so don't be put off. Quality cuisine but some of the clay pots are chipped and look a bit grubby. Staff seem though to be going through the motions and need a bit of American hospitality training!

“Authentic experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013

Chinatown is a bit crowded. But it's quick and it's cheap and it's tasty. Hong Kong Clay Pot gives you all of this. I like that they have carpeting that has probably been there since 1980 and that the stairs getting up to the restaurant creak and moan when you walk on them. I love it that they are all about serving you up with an array of tasty, fresh, authentic Chinese food and then sending you on your way. You're there to eat, not to linger. The clay pot recipes are great! Try some of the brewskies too. All delicious.

“Yummy for the Tummy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

It was not as difficult to find the restaurant as everyone said it was, and when found, it was great!yes it is a second floor walk up with interesting views looking across the street. I had the abalone and chicken clay pot, and it was very very good. My husband enjoyed clams with black bean sauce. Our friend tried a shrimp dish. All were good, and the service was excellent. We will go back!

“Authentic and affordable!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2013

This is a rather difficult restaurant to locate, being that it's in the midst of Grant street Chinatown, and located upstairs above some of the ubiquitous souvenir shops. It certainly appears to be a hole in the wall restaurant, but the food is absolutely delicious. If you are looking for authentic Hong Kong dishes that are affordable, you will be very happy here. It is not a tourist restaurant, although some make their way in there. It might not look the prettiest, but it tastes good and if that's what you're looking for, you won't be disappointed!

“Good authentic food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

Went there for late lunch after the crowds dissipated. The place still had some locals eating there, and at one point the staff also sat down and was eating. The restaurant itself is tough to identify, found it by address and by a bin with take-out menus on the door. It's up a flight of stairs but well worth the climb. The food was tasty and plentiful, and the price was very reasonable. Would definitely return!
