What could be better than sitting right along San Francisco Bay at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge watching fire works or listening to a concert. Or just picnicing and playing frisbee. Lovely, peaceful afternoon.................

“Nice place to spend an afternoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2014

We were able to take the bus from our hotel (at Union Square) to Crissy Field. While I think Marin Handlands has a better view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Crissy Field is easier to get to using the public transpiration.

After getting off from the bus (most bus drivers were very helpful), we walked a short walk to the beach. We spent a few hours there, just enjoying the view and the day. We later figured out there was a huge area of Crissy Field that we didn't visit. We will definitely go again when we are in town.

“Nice views of Golden Gate Bridge”

I was in San Francisco watching the America's Cup and wandered down to Crissy Field for the views of the Golden Gate Bridge. On a clear July day I captured the glorious Golden Gate at its finest.

a beach with loads of friendly folks: either on two or four legs, Golden Gate in plain view and some sun on our heads to round it up.
What a nice way to spend a lazy Sunday in SF!

“A must see in San Francisco”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2014

We visited Crissy Field in early April on a crisp sunny day. This was one of my favorite spots in the city and it makes me proud to be a city girl (another city) to see the community step up and restore an otherwise unusable area. They have a GREAT coffee and snack bar, a cool and informative gift shop, and plenty of free information about the area. Outside, there is lots of open space and spectacular views of the Golden Gate bridge. Really should not be missed!

Crissy Field was the military’s first air defense station on the Pacific coast. After many years of use the community came together and removed over "87,000 tons of hazardous material and restored the 100-acre station back into parkland—including a restored grassy field, revitalized marsh, new shoreline promenade, and an environmental education facility". quick web search!
