“For food lovers!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We recently returned to RN74 as we had such an enjoyable meal there many years ago when it first opened. We spent a long time waiting in the bar area for our table as we wanted a booth, but that was ok as the drinks were good. After a recommendation from one of the bar staff, I ordered the risotto. It was delicious while my husband ordered the pate. Both very good but the crostini's seemed particularly hard and crunchy and dangerously near to cracking my soft teeth. Both our entree's were excellent, seafood and lamb but where it wasn't up to expectations was the desert. We ordered the eclair to share but it was a different take on an eclair - very small and not worth the price. It was a shame to leave disappointed after such a great meal. Both starters and entrees were a decent size and when you pay nearly two hundred dollars for a meal, you expect it to be up to expectations. All in all a good place but leave the deserts.

“Great eclectic menu and lovely service”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

Busy on a weeknight with a vibrant bar scene, and fantastic food. I am a big fan of Chef Mina and his staff are impeccably trained and offer genuine service and engagement. While RN74 is the route through the best wine country in France, the menu is eclectic and fun. The wine list is compelling with good values and more

“Best Meal+ Great Experience”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

We were in San Francisco for a girls' weekend and this was such a wonderful part of the trip. The food was incredible - all of it. Everything we tasted was "our favorite". The service was outstanding. We were well taken care of! It was wonderful. If I ever have the good fortune of returning to SF, I will definitely be revisiting!

“Reputation Well-Earned!”
Reviewed February 13, 2013 via mobile

Went to dinner on a weeknight with 3 business colleagues, and had a wonderful evening of indulgence. Atmosphere is kind of retro French "gare", something like the bistro in the Gare de Lyon in Paris.

We started with three tasty shared plates--flash-fried Brussels sprouts, tempura'd mushrooms, and cheese/garlic/ bread, followed by a delicious beet, Burrata, and locally grown lettuce salad with a fresh and tangy vinaigrette. Two of us chose grilled Char for main dishes, and the other two lamb shanks. Both dishes were modern and interesting variants on solid bistro staples, and both perfectly prepared.

All of this was accompanied by a quirky but quite good Pinot from Marin County, CA (across the GG bridge from SF), which is not exactly known for having any vineyards or wineries. This one, Kendric, was only the second winery label I have seen, and I live in Marin.

Service was unobtrusive, but timed and executed with perfection. Food prices were in line with restaurants of this calibre in the City; wine was overpriced.
