If you want to see those classic San Francisco houses, this is the place to be. We walked around a nearby park, which turned out to be a great way to see the neighborhood in a relaxed way. If you get to the right side street, you can see a literally high level view of the bay.

“Well worth a visit when in San Fransisco, take a tram up there and walk the length of the main street”
Reviewed July 18, 2012

For a start once up there the walking is relatively flat and there are some great views, lots of coffee stops and interesting buildings with drop in shopping if that is your thing. My advice is walk from the Nob hill end and then when you have reached the end of Pacific Heights you can drop down to the Marina and walk back along the waterfront, it took us 4 hours to complete and we enjoyed it all.

“Great neighborhood to walk”
Reviewed March 23, 2012

Beautiful, multi-story century-plus Victorian and Elizabethan houses, clean streets, good shopping variety up and down Fillmore street, this is one of the most pleasant neighborhoods in the city to wander. Also worth seeing is Alta Plaza, a good example of a hilltop San Francisco park.
