Owner description: On June 7, 1974, Steve Silver produced a small show in the back room of the Savoy Tivoli Restaurant in San Francisco. The show was to run for six weeks. That was over 37 years ago... Today, Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon has the distinguished title of "World's Longest Running Musical Revue." The show - a musical spoof known internationally for its extravagant costumes, outrageous hats, show-stopping numbers and hilarious puns of pop culture and political character - has been seen by over 5.5 Million people, including HRC Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall as well as some of Hollywood's biggest stars. "Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon," hailed as "a constant cascade of showstoppers" by the "San Francisco Chronicle", follows Snow White as she takes a fast-paced journey around the world in search of her "Prince Charming." Along the way she encounters a star-studded, ever-changing line-up of hilarious political and pop-culture characters including Donald and Melania Trump, Adele, Hillary & Bill Clinton, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, President Barack & Michelle Obama, Hamilton, Bernie Sanders, Sia, Taylor Swift, Vladimir Putin, Chris Christie, Barbra Streisand, Miley Cyrus, Orange is the New Black, Empire’s Cookie, Oprah and the San Francisco Giants

The show was lacking something I can't put my finger on. If you do not enjoy pop culture references, this is not the show for you. It was visually entertaining and I thought the singing (for the most part) was great. Toward the end, there were parts that were a little piercing and I started to get a headache.

Glad I went once, but will not go back. We usually go to the ballet and wanted to try something different this year. My parents and brother did not care for the show at all. It's back to the ballet next year.

Went to to their Holiday show - My third time overall in about a dozen years. While the basic story is the same they always keep it fresh with current events, new costumes and dance and song choices. Do book early though. We booked within 10 days and got seats at the very top. Also only serve wine coffee still and sparkling water at high prices - $2.50 for an 9 oz cup of sparkling water filled to the brim with ice! Also 2 stalls in women's restroom on main level and unisex single user restroom on third level.

I have seen this show several times. It is so typical of the interesting and quirky and wonderful things about San Francisco. I particularly like sitting in the balcony. The show pokes fun at all subjects and is always current to what is happening in the world. It is song, dance, comedy, and full of fabulous and outrageous costumes and characters starting with Snow White. The story line follows Snow around the world looking for love. You will share her adventure in this pursuit. The venue is small and intimate. The price of the ticket includes admission and there is no minimum drink requirement. Only food avalible is snacks like pretzels. This is a "not to be missed" showl.

At first, you're just enthralled by the costumes and antics of the exxtra large actors, but after a while the thrill wears off and you find your self distracted by the sheer spectical of it all. A great time and lots of fun, but you need to be in the mood for some zany and wild fun.

The cast is phenomenal! A talented ensemble that one would be hard pressed to duplicate. The jokes are fast and furious, the venue small enough to actually have some interaction with the performers which turns up the fun factor to 11! The basic storyline remains unchanged but the cultural, social, local and national topics are updated frequently. We saw the show before the chaos of the 2012 election began so I'm sure we missed some comedy gold ("Gold, Jerry, gold!). Beach Blanket Babylon lived up to the hype, hey, it surpassed it!
