“Great band, great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2013

Wandered in just as the billed band was due to start on a Monday night. Felt really bad for the guys to be just 2 of 10 people who paid $12/pp plus dinner for the band. And they were really good : standard jazz plus original songs and guests who jammed in with them. We easily could have stayed another 3hours. The food was ok, Billed as New Orleans-like but having just been there- NOT! but tasty and not ridiculously expensive. Catfish po'boy was fresh and flavorful. Peppered brisket was a solid good as well. Drinks city-wide seem set a $7. Berry cobbler was smaller than anticipated but also very good. Music definitely better than the food and the atmosphere is probably better with more people in the room!

“Just Great”

Downstairs, low ceilinged, atmospheric.
Very decent food and friendly staff.
Music loud but not unbearably so.
Terrific place to visit for music lovers.

“Biscuits & Blues San Francisco!!! WOW”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2013

WOW, I recently went here to see Lavay Smith and The Red Hot Skillet Lickers. I was excited about seeing Lavay and the band and hadn’t put high expectations on the dinner part of the experience; I was BLOWN AWAY with BOTH the SHOW and the FOOD!!! Tina was WONDERFUL about getting seats and they were great seats at that, IN FACT there isn’t a bad seat in the house!!!! Lavay and the boys in the band were FANTASTIC!!! ALL of the dishes that my group had were stellar from gumbo to dessert. I had the fried chicken that was AWESOME, compliments go out to the chef, his kitchen staff AND the WAIT STAFF!!!! I can’t wait to get back to the Bay Area again, I will definitely be making a stop at the Biscuit & Blues even if it’s just for a GREAT MEAL!!!!

“Good comfort food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

I'm from St. Louis and used to travel frequently in Arkansas and Tennessee so I've had my share of comfort food. My co-worker and I had the pulled pork and fried chicken dinners. The pork was okay, not outstanding. The chicken was pretty good. Probably a 7 or 8 on a scale of 10. It wasn't greasy and it had good flavor and crispiness. Mashed potatoes and gravy were okay. I liked the biscuits, but I've had better. They have a sweetness to them that I liked. We didn't take in the evenings show but I heard it was sold out. My coworker has been here several times and said it is a good time. Its a small room though with a low ceiling so be prepared for the music to be loud. The crowd was a good mix of all sorts so you won't feel uncomfortable. Staff was very friendly and cost was reasonable for the heart of SF tourist area.

“A show and dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

The show was excellent....we loved the atmosphere....a great place for blues...the dinner was pretty good...not the best we've had in San Francisco, but still very good. It was more about the environment!!! Will go there again...
