“Yoda Statue Nerdvana”

Visit Lucas Flims Limited offices in The Presidio! The Yoda Fountain is small ( judge me by my size, do you!) but very serene. The lobby has life size Boba Fett and Darth Vader costumes. The bookcases have books, light sabers, statues, awards, and other memorabilia. The trees flanking the offices look like the White Tree of Gondor. No tours, just a very tolerant receptionist who oversees the trickle of Star Wars fans make the pilgrimage. A must for the über geek.

“History and vistas and more”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

This is a wonderful park of greenery and architecture that invites wandering. It is contemplaive as there is the cementary to lost American heros as this was formerly a military base in the boundaries of San Francisco located with vistas of the bay and the Golden Gate. It is now home to Lucas films who hope to open a movie memobilia museum; there is the Disney Museum, a wonderful dinner formerly the presido officerd club and much to diccover but it is better to be on a bike than walking. You can travel to Fort point under the Golden Gate Bridge eaisly fron the presido which is a site worth a visit.. you might recall it from the film,, Vertigo

“historical US Army post”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

This scenic park was, until fairly recently, the site of an historic US Army post. Situated just south of the Golden Gate Bridge, the post commands an impressive view of San Francisco Bay. The drive through the old post reveals homes where generals and colonels once lived. My memories of the Presidio span 60 years -- including childhood visits with my father, who was a military officer, and my own visits as an Army officer during the Vietnam War era. Now a national park, the Presidio provides an interesting blend of nature, history, and commercial interests.
