Went here for Sunday brunch around 9 a.m. and waited about an hour for a table for three. The wait was even longer when we were leaving. The food was pretty good - beignets and fried chicken benedict were unique and well done. They serve Chicory coffee, which I did not enjoy. I'm sure some people love this, but I just wanted regular coffee and was disappointed. The service was also not great. More of an order taking style, not interested in creating an experience or being friendly. We also had to fight to get water and then get it refilled later, something I hate when at a restaurant. Lastly, they do not have a full liquor license so no hard liquor which means no screwdrivers or real bloody marys. A must for me on a Sunday brunch. They do takeout and if I were to go back would just get some beignets to go.

The best place to go in the city for beignets! While the wait can be a bit ridiculous at prime times, I believe it is worth it. I would say that the wait is less on weekdays are better than weekends.
MUST GETS:
Fried catfish Benedict's
Fried chicken
Crawfish beignets
Gumbo
Watermelon ice tea

Hangtown fry from house favorites part of the menu was amazing. It's crispy oysters & scallion scramble, with grits or hash, plus cream biscuit or toast.
Tight space, very loud, not a very long wait,
Great seafood breakfast.

Local favorite with a unique atmosphere. Not sure what French soul food is but very good bunch fare. Try the crepe flight, yes even the shrimp stuffed one. Food was good. Service great. Expect a line at the door but you can get a cup of coffee outside while you wait for seating. SF landmark if you have the time it's worth a visit.
