Hotel for about $100 that included Parking. The location is very convenient. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Tony at the front desk is friendly and accomodating. Highly recommend for the budget conscious, value-seeking travelers. Close to cheaps eats. The world famous curvey section of Lombard not far from hotel. Worth driving down for a free thrill.

One of the reasons we chose this Inn was they offered free parking. When we saw other area hotels were charging $30 a night to park, free parking became important. We knew we were going to have two double beds rather than our preferred queen sized beds, but that was a compromise we made. The area seemed a little run down, but it was within walking distance to the beach, Union Street, and if you are a good walker, Ghirardelli Square. The room itself was nice with a table and two chairs in a nice bay window area. However our room faced Lombardi Street so we definitely heard the traffic. You might want to request a room in the back for a quieter experience. The Inn offers no breakfast, but there are restaurants pretty close. Our one complaint was the cold. The windows seemed to let in cold air, and the marble bathroom floor was pretty cold. I found myself scooting around the floor on the bath mat in the morning. However the thermostat is easy to use to keep the heat up.

So, yes, there were compromises with this stay, but it worked fine for us and we enjoyed our time in San Francisco. We would stay here again.

Was looking for a place to stay while visiting San Francisco and went on Trip Advisor. This hotel was rated very high and under $100... Not sure. What a gem of a hotel. We were greater by Tony who was friendly and helpful, changed my room from a double to king. Large room that has been updated. If your room is towards the front of the hotel it may be a little loud due to Lombard St. Lots of cages and coffee shops. FREE parking and WI FI. All for $86 a night!! We walked to Fisherman's Wharf. We will stay here again!!

Room Tip: Stay towards to back for less road noise.

Great find. This place met all my requirements and even exceeded my expectations.
I wanted a room in town that is reasonably priced, safe, and clean and I got it at the Coventry Motor Inn. I needed a parking space for my car at the hotel with in/out out privileges and I got it, too.
We first drove in to Chelsea Motor Inn, one of Coventry Motor Inn’s sister properties, by mistake. To my defense, they all look a like and the Chelsea is just a couple of blocks down from the Coventry. When we finally arrived and checked in to the Coventry Motor Inn, the first question my husband asked was “Is this all you got for parking spaces?” The ground level parking lot (where the check-in room is) was full and we had to double park the car while we were checking in. The receptionist responded with a wry grin “No. Sometimes I think I am in parking lot business.” No matter; for our entire time in San Francisco, traffic was heavy and parking situation was very challenging.
What exceeded my expectations were the spaciousness and the quietness of the room. An old city like San Francisco, hotel rooms tend to be smaller and cramped but not at the Coventry Motor Inn. The room was simply furnished and not over stuffed one might even say it looked sparse. As for the quietness, the only time I knew I had people in the neighboring rooms were the time when they opened/closed their doors. No TV noise, no conversation noise, no plumbing noise from other rooms. There were traffic noises from outside the building but it wasn’t big deal.
The mattress was as advertised – memory form – which was very nice.
There is no breakfast at the hotel but I think it is ok. If they were to serve breakfast at the hotel, they have to sacrifice space (a guestroom or few parking spaces) and I would rather want the hotel to have the guestroom/parking spaces than a breakfast room. And you have many breakfast (and lunch and dinner) choices around the hotel. If you like something quick and are not too fussy, there is a bodega right across the street (30 seconds to get there) that sells everything; alcohol, OTC medications, pastries, and ramen noodle.
This hotel offers great value.

We ended up staying here for four nights in total. The location is great (Chestnut street - we recommend Pacific Catch for fish and Union street are each about three blocks away and it is a short walk down from the cable car at the top of Lombard (at the start of the crookedest street).

Yes, Lombard Street is a noisy thoroughfare - but rooms away from the street are available - we stayed in 103 which is an internal room.

There is a very handy corner shop right next door for things like fresh milk

Room Tip: 103 is internal and quiet

Located in San Fransinsco "Bermuda triangle" so many bars, stores and restaurant you just can't come out. Helpful stuff, good rooms with bay windows, free parking (huge plus in sf) near to Marina, little Italy and China town..

We stayed here 2 nights, asked for a quiet room and were very happy. The Inn is secure, you use your room "key" to enter the building. Tony at the desk was great, recommended a Thai restaurant across the street. No ear plugs needed, even the heater was quiet. The bathroom is large. Quite comfortable. Definitely would stay again. (No pets allowed.)
Parking is all covered, they say they nearly never run out of parking spaces, security camera watches the lower level parking.

Room Tip: Stayed in the back, away from Lombard St. We were in 201 at the end of a hall, on an alley. Quiet...
