Owner description: At the northwestern corner of San Francisco, there is a series of stunning views at every turn in this wild and windy trail. Hillsides of cypress and wildflowers, views of shipwrecks and access to the ruins of Sutro baths, a San Francisco specials memory.

“whale watching”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

When I was there on one of my bicycle trips and looked to the sea, taking some pictures of the landscape, someone asked me if I had seen the whales. I was thinking he is joking, but really, not too far away I could see the blowing / breathing of a whale and shortly after that the whale itself - of course without any details since it was still too far.
Also the landscape, the experience to go into the water, the nearby park, and the facilities make it worth to go to Lands End.

“Put on your hiking boots”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

A bit of a trip on the buses to get there if you do not have a car but easy enough to do if you catch the right buses.
Then prepare yourself for quite a hike across uneven paths but some of the views you get of the ocean and the bridge are worth it.
Lots of photo opportunities along the way and the advantage of being on public transport is you can get a different bus back from the other end. In a car you have to go all the way back again.

“What a Hidden Treat!”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

We stumbled onto Lands End--it was not in our plans, but we are grateful to have visited there. We walked a few trails, looked out over the Pacific Ocean, and learned much about the native tribes who had lived there in the past.

“One of my most favorite spots on the planet”

Beautiful, exciting and unfortunately, probably a place many visitors to get out to see. Watching a sunset (when there is no fog) is spectacular

“Fresh fresh air”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

It was worth the trip to breathe that wonderful fresh air. View was limited by the fog but still nice. There are really three things to see, parks department facility, lands end building, both new, and the ruins of the Sutro baths. We did not hike any of the trails, but was tempted. The beach is beautiful, could have sat all day. Lovely place.
