Owner description: At the northwestern corner of San Francisco, there is a series of stunning views at every turn in this wild and windy trail. Hillsides of cypress and wildflowers, views of shipwrecks and access to the ruins of Sutro baths, a San Francisco specials memory.

Although a 3 mile hike, it was an easy breathtaking hike that is worth the time and effort. I had never seen such beautiful sites and couldnt help but tear up a few times. It was just amazing, words do not do this attraction justice, but if you have a few hours, make sure you do this. Not sure where or how we figured out where to start, as we took a cab to a fancy neighborhood, and finding a start address online seemed difficult. There were a few scary parts, but the sound of the crashing waves and the view of the golden gate in the distance was just amazing. Makes you venture down the stairs at the half way mark as you will end up on the beach and can see some iconic sites. I would go back and do this again on my next visit.

“Take Some Time to Explore”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

One of the stops on our city-wide bus tour, this afforded a beautiful view of the open water and an interesting history. Take some time to walk throughout the small gift shop to read about the Cliff House and Public Baths. If you are in need of a snack, this is the place to do it - fresh, lots of organic items, and the clam chowder was surprisingly good.

“Great coastal hike”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

We took the bus (5) to the end of the lands end trail. We walked up the hill where the bus dropped us and started behind the cliff house. There was an otter hanging out at the sutra baths. From there we walked up several steps to get to a well maintained trail. Just a warning the hike is not all level. There are several wooden steps in 2 separate areas. It's a great walk to see the golden gate bridge. It was a sunny day when we did the hike so we had great views of the bridge( no fog). At the end (which was really the beginning) we walked a few blocks and caught the bus back to our hotel. Definitely enjoyed the hike.

“Great Views!”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

I actually stumbled onto this play when driving up the great highway. It is right next to the Cliffhouse restaurant. Interestingly the Cliffhouse provides a lot of history for the area and a trip there can make you appreciate the area even more. Lands end itself is a quick trip but one that offers great views. You can get pretty close to the rocks and watch the waves crash into the rocks. There is a small cave like tunnel that you can walk though as well. Above the entrance of the cave there is a small protrusion that looks like the side of a face. If you are visiting lands end while the waves are fairly big this tunnel can echo what sounds like a distant cannon due to the waves slamming against one of the hallowed areas that feeds into this tunnel. This is a great place to go and get some good pictures. It also has a lot of trails, one of which leads to the USS San Francisco, a great story of our navy's bravery.
