“Beautiful and a Must See”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

We went to the Conservatory of Flowers but didn't have time to go inside. But just standing outside and taking pictures was magical. We are going to visit again and pay the $7 entrance free. It is free on the first Tuesday of every month. We'll be back with the kids to see all the beautiful flowers.

“Red Hats visit”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

It's an awesome place. Although you can just go (reasonable admission), or you can sign up for a 2-hr tour (free, but please tip the volunteer guide). If you have the time, I recommend the tour.

“Beautiful natural settings for flowers; rather small exhibit”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

A nice enclosed set of gardens - Tropical, highland tropical, aquatic, and Victorian potted plants. Each room has its own climate. Very nice displays. It is rather small, four rooms - can see it in an hour. $7 is a reasonable price. The 5th area is special exhibits, closed when we were there, getting ready for the next exhibitiion.

“A wonderful respite in Golden Gate Park”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

The Conservatory was damaged heavily in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake and was closed for some time. Since then they've repaired the building and it's gorgeous. The flower selection is amazing despite the buildings relatively small size and the pond room is well worth the couple dollars it costs to get in. Be sure to read the placards in the main atrium - there is some interesting information.
