Having spent a long day seeing so much in SF, we opted to just take a walk in the evening so only looked at the exterior of the cathedral. It is beautiful, and we may try to go inside on another visit.

Just a beautiful cathedral with columns that rise up toward the heavens and artistic stain glass windows allowing light to flow in. Peace and serenity the moment you enter and the doors close off the sounds of the city. Really a lovely church.

You will be amazed at the beauty....Located at the very top, with stunning views. the Cathedral had beautiful stained glass and intricate carved work. Definitely worth the trip to the top.....and so peaceful.

Walking up those steep hills (if you're not going by car) was gruesome. But the view at the top of the church steps was breathtaking, could see the city's skyline from up there and feel the winds breeze. The church history and overall presence is nice to observe as well. There's a small nice green square nearby as well open to the public some locals like to bring their dogs there and picnic too!

This is the Notre Dame of SF. It's quite similar to the original in Paris, buy no less beautiful. Gorgeous stained glass, and 2 traditional labyrinths. A chapel dedicated to AiDS victims is so appropriate in this city. It's a beautiful space and totally worth visiting
