The AIDS memorial is so touching, and you can feel how this church reach out to people regardless of their background. Great architecture and view as well. Went there on foot and had to climb all the way up, but it's so worth it.

“Beautiful place to visit.”

This is a cathedral on a European scale. The stained glass is amazing, the height of the ceiling soaring. We walked the labyrinth in the entrance, which was a lovely, quiet, and meditative activity. Just as we arrived, someone started playing the enormous pipe organ. We were treated to an incredible concert as we toured the cathedral, studying the paintings, altars, and windows.

What a wonderful place to see!

“Fantastic architectural destination in SF”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

Absolutely wonderful architectural details and a peaceful, awe-inspiring place. It will take some time if you really want to enjoy and understand the stained glass windows and murals. You can also walk the labyrinths. It is an amazing structure in the middle of high rises of busy SF streets. So European. Great for photography. The Christmas time choir is famous especially with the three organs. A must-see for any visitor to San Francisco or any resident of the Bay Area.

“A mini Notre Dame”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

Amazing stained glass windows. Beautiful church. Could match up well against virtually any of the European churches people tour. Wish they had a lot more information, though, on the building itself and on all the artwork in the church. Wish I could have taken a tour. Should be a must see on any Catholic or Christian's visit to SF. It's awe-inspiring. Also has a nice gift shop and a Peet's coffee in the basement.

“A Beautiful cathedral to see in SF.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012

Grace Cathedral is a beautiful example of a european style church in San Francisco, CA. Grace Cathedral is the crown jewel of the Episcopal church in Northern California. Walking into Grace Cathedral is like walking into a church in England, France or Germany. The front doors to the cathedral are a replica of Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise, which are amazing to see. If you are planning a visit to San Francisco, make a point to visit Grace Cathedral on Nob Hill. After visiting Grace Cathedral, walk over to the Fairmont Hotel and then have a drink at The Top of the Mark in the Mark Hopkins Hotel.
