One of the best locations I've ever seen in my life. Magical atmosphere of a time gone, staff friendly and welcoming, breakfast delicious and plentiful, elegant rooms that retain the style of the past century, in short, a place where the echoing notes of the most beautiful opera, I'd say a good place for those who love culture and the refined style, located in one of the most elegant and quiet neighborhoods of the city, very close to the Painted Ladies. An experience once in lifetime.

My wife were fortunate enough to get the last room available at the Tivoli for a weekend stay while seeing the world's greatest band, Camper Van Beethoven. This B&B is a huge and wonderful old house with historic furnishings and beautiful appointments throughout. The house is an old building, so street noise was audible but that was the only drawback. The staff was amazingly friendly and gave great advice on getting around the area. They offer a complimentary breakfast as well as brunch on Sunday morning. Highly recommended.

I stayed in the Mark Twain Suite that is amazing. Huge bedroom with additional huge room with a game table in the turret peak of the classic SF Victorian. Room is clean with antique furnishings. Champagne and Quiche Sunday breakfast, French toast Saturday, and Continental plus other days. Wine and cheese daily 4-6pm. The staff was super helpful and competent. Seems very safe and secure. Room windows open to get SF cool breeze.
Very quiet.
I had a bike that was great fun to head to nearby Golden Gate Park or downtown. This is a location that takes a bit of walking or a bike or a car or public transportation to get around. I stayed 5 nights to visit my daughter who lives in the neighborhood and enjoyed it tremendously.
30% discount for winter rate and it was a bargain compared to SF hotels.

Room Tip: Get the Mark Twain suite...Four post bed with mirrors on canopy...Huge walk-in closet...cons to this room is be ready to climb to third floor on narrow stairway and no tub...bathroom small and quaint but rooms in this suite are huge...

We were in SF for a concert. We choose the Chateau Tivoli B&B because it was only a few blocks from the venue of the concert. We drove, so we needed a parking spot. We immediately found a spot on the street near the B&B. This B&B is a beautiful Victorian house decorated accordingly. We stayed in the Aimee Crocker room. It was clean and comfortable. There were chairs by the windows to sit and look outside. The windows could be opened. The staff was excellent. They gave us a great recommendation for lunch & dinner restaurants (all within walking distance). Served wine and cheese in the late afternoon. Asking if there were any diet restrictions for breakfast. The breakfast was delicious. We were there on a Sunday morning, so the glass of champagne with breakfast was a nice treat. If you need to stay in this area of SF, please choose this B&B. You won't regret it.

Romantic and full of charme. The staff was very helpful and polite. The room was very quiet and decorated with an antique style that contributed to make the B&B a special place. Very good price for san francisco, if you take a room with a very clean external bathroom.
