After much consideration, we chose this lovely Inn based on the reviews and the location of cow hollow, which my husband and I both love. I was concerned that after a couple days in Napa that nothing could compare but the Union Street Inn did not disappoint us at all. The staff were lovely, Our room was peaceful and the water was always hot. The hospitality extended to wine and cheese and special attention to detail and flexibility of time tables. Kit was a joy. Her breakfasts were delicious and served with grace and good conversation. I felt I had found a kindred spirit in her, which made our stay feel so comfortable. Our bed was the most comfortable we experienced on our trip. The WIld rose has a California king. The property garden was charming with it's beautiful trees and bird feeders; nature was very inviting from the guest lounge. Another great aspect was the considerate privacy. If you wish to have a restful lie in.. you may without any provocation. This inn is a victorian gem with tasteful antiques and design. There is TV and wireless internet available in your rooms and other amenities.

I highly recommend this inn to travelers with an appreciation for the true bed and breakfast . An inn with a personal touch, genreous character and free spirited. I recommend Kit's banana nut bread and fruit cups... fresh and deliscious. The Inn opens up onto busy Cow Hollow -based Union street, where there are shops, cafes and restaurants aplenty to choose from. It is a fun location.

Parking is the only issue but that is an issue anywhere in the city. You can look for an available free spot around... be patient you'll find one. Just be mindful of the signs that tell you if it is street cleaning day..the staff will get you up to speed.

If you are looking for the confines of a pricey stuffy hotel , look elsewhere; if you want to feel at home .. choose the Union Street Inn.

Yvette and Chad... thank you Kit and all th staff of Union Street Inn, we had a wonderful time.

This was our second stay at the Union Street Inn, and it was just as good as we remember it. It is now officially our home in San Francisco, which we visit frequently to see family. It's a hidden gem - tucked right in the midst of all the shops and restaurants Union Street has to offer, with easy proximity to many others on Chestnut and Fillmore Streets. The breakfasts are not to be missed - they provide great fuel for long walks to Chrissy Field, which I highly recommend.

Lovely , helpful hosts and a terrific location would bring us back to the Union Street Inn. Decorated in an ecclectic style with antiques and quirky objects from around the world, the location is perfect for strolling, shopping and dining. Our "Holly" room was sunny, spacious and clean. The breakfasts during our three night stay were some of the best we've eaten anywhere. You don't need to eat lunch. You can enjoy dining in the secluded courtyard garden or eat inside. We have nothing but happy and satisfied memories of our stay there.

Multiple stays at the Inn have invariably been a quiet refuge from the city outside. The food, pleasant staff, covy room decor, and convenient location make this a real treasure.

My daughter surprised me with a birthday trip to San Francisco, and booked a reservation at the Union St. Inn for the weekend. The quaintness of this historic house and it's perfect location in the city , lent itself to a great weekend of shopping, and resturants, and just a cab ride away from anything else that might captivate your interests. The hospitality provided at the inn was outstanding. The breakfast was scrumptious, the service outstanding, and the lush garden grounds made it hard to believe that you were in the heart of a bustling city. We can't wait to return!
