My wife and I stayed here for three nights, for her 40th birthday. We were very pleased with our choice. We stayed in the "Carriage House" on the first night. I was amazed at how quiet this little guest house was, being set at the back of the property, with a beautiful garden separating it from the main house.
The second night was spent in the "Golden Gate" room, which was a very different experience, but still pleasant. It overlooks Union Street, with all its hustle and bustle. The noise can be easily mitigated by drawing the blinds and curtains, but if you are a light sleeper, you may want to request a room at the back of the house.
The breakfasts were delicious, and definitely not skimpy. You could probably skip lunch entirely. Lots of fresh fruit, and a very tasty loaf; along with the requisite eggs, sausage, etc.
You cannot go wrong choosing this property. It is close to everything, and the staff is very welcoming.
