Step back in time when you walk through the doors of this impeccably kept turn-of-the-century inn. The decor is so warm and welcoming as is Jane, the proprietress of this incredible establishment. The accommodations are exactly as described on the web site. As a matter of fact, the photos on the site (exquisite) cannot live up to the actual experience of the stay. The room we stayed in (Holly) overlooks the courtyard and garden (magnificent), and the bed is the best I've slept in anywhere outside of my own. The appointments in the room are so tastefully done, and the little courtesies such as the welcoming fruit basket make you feel immediately that you've made the right choice. Great hip location with plenty of restaurants for foodies such as us, and the shopping along Union St. is varied and sure to attract those looking to bring something home from San Francisco that is not in the "souvenir" category. Loved the Union St. Inn. The only place to stay in the city by the bay. Rick and Judy

Everything from breakfast to location was excellent. in a short walk (15 min.) we were on the Bay with access to the Golden Bridge.

Room Tip: On Saturday nights, Union street is quite busy. If you plane a week end, you may ask for room that doesn't face Union Street.

We had read on TripAdvisor that the Union Street Inn was the best B and B in town, so we arrived with great expectations. I'm delighted to report that we were not at all disappointed. Kit, Jane and David made us feel completely welcome during our four night stay. The living room, gardens guest room and bath are beautifully appointed, and the bed and linens are as luscious as the daily breakfast. When our TV cable had a momentary hiccup, innkeeper Jane spent her Sunday morning fixing the problem, saying that a malfunctioning TV was unacceptable. This is the kind of individualized service one can expect from the Union Street Inn. Highest recommendation!

We will never stay anywhere else when we visit San Francisco in the future. They make delicious breakfasts--loved them all--frittata, French toast, blueberry pancakes, freshly squeezed orange juice. Great warm chocolate chip cookies and martini cake in the afternoon. Amazing! Jane, David, and Kit could not have been more friendly. They were warm and welcoming, and they tell great stories. Jane was sitting for her grand-dog, and I wanted to bring him home with me. We felt more welcome and pampered than anywhere we've ever stayed. Stop reading reviews and book them. Hurry!

Room Tip: We would stay in one of the upstairs rooms next time. Ours was close to the kitchen--not bad--great for stepping out to get coffee, but the rooms upstairs provide a little more privacy.

The Union St. Inn is the sweetest little place to stay in the heart of Cow Hollow, San Francisco! On a recent one-week stay I overheard the manager, Kit ask someone, “Don’t you love having breakfast served to you in the morning?” Yes, Kit, I really do, especially outside in a beautiful, sunny, quiet courtyard. I also like walking out the door to all the great Union St. shops and restaurants, and taking a short walk to the Marina, Pac Heights, and Crissy Field. And, I like coming back to a friendly “Welcome Back” and cookies, fruit and wine in the late afternoon. And, I like a great bed and clean shower at the end of the day. So, if this sounds good to you too, make your reservation early because often they are just plain full.

Room Tip: Coach house is quiet and private.
