This is a beautiful place to stay in a great location. Moments away from Castro, and there are tons of great places to eat and drink all around. Mike and his team were so helpful and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that put you off as inside it is lovely. And don't be put off by the shared bathroom situation. There are single toilets (WC's) that are nicer than even a top hotel bathroom! And they are only a few steps from your room. Everything is immaculately clean and there are lots of little special touches, like fresh robes for you to use. The shower rooms are very spacious and really nice. Free WIFI for guests, lots of maps and brochures, and a drinks reception every evening in the lounge. The breakfast selection was ideal too. Fresh fruits, bagels, boiled eggs etc. We had a room on the upper floor away from the front street and it was very quiet for sleeping. I would definitely go back here. Highly recommend.

Excellent B&B in SFO. I stayed here for 7 nights in August and from the very first moment I thought of it as real home.
Very cozy rooms; bathrooms were alwyas clean and available.
Breakfast in a small kitchen on the second floor, the fridge always stuffed with yoghurts, milk and juices all day and night.
Hosts always helpful and with plenty of information whatever you asked them, from a nearby laundrette to directions to the Golden Gate.
Most SFO 'metro' lines run close to the Willows.
Castro five minutes away and Safeway supermarket open 24 hours across the street.
Definitely a great place.

We were enroute to Mexico, and decided to stay in SF for a couple of nights prior. This is a lovely, lovely place to stay, and the staff so helpful. We got our room straight away, after an 18 hour flight. Neither the boyfriend or myself would have any hesitation in staying here again. Craig & Brad, Christchurch, New Zealand

I stayed for 4 nights in early August. The Willows Inn is very conveniently located in a very pleasant neighbourhood with plenty of amenities close by. Church St street just a block away has some very nice restaurants and cafes etc.
The subway is oppositie and a number of trams run close by so it is an excellent place to get around San Francisco. The Castro area and all is has to offer are a short walk away.
The Willows Inn has a very pleasant feel and is welcoming. The staff were all very helpful and gave me any information I needed as a first time visitor to San Francisco. The reviews on here are accurate and give a good feel for the place. I attended the drinks evening one during my four night stay, it was a great way to meet other travellers. Would have gone more than once but my busy schedule didn't permit attending other nights.
I would recommend this Inn and would stay again without any hesitation at all.

Room Tip: I asked for a quiet room and got a very nice room not over looking the road. it was perfect.

Cozy and comfortable, not luxurious but definitely feels like home. The cherry on top was the complimentary breakfast tray that was delivered in to our room after a long night in the Castro bars... What a service & personnel!

We were a bit suspicios towards the shared bathrooms, but they were clean and we didn't need to queue for the showers. A good experience.

P.S. During the same trip we also stayed at Parker Guest House, which is a similar kind of B&B located nearby. That was also a very good experience, but compered to Willows they were a bit less personal and more hotel-like.
