This hotel was lovely and everything listed on their ad is exactly as stated and the photos are also up to date, so you will not be disappointed. The staff were all friendly especially the 4 front desk/concierge staff - they were very welcoming, knowledgeable and anytime you entered or exited the hotel they would great you. Nothing you could ask them at any time, was a problem to them. The homemade cookies they provide were a lovely touch and they actually leave them out longer until they are all gone, so you aren't just limited to a set time. The breakfast was nice and they had no issue at all if you took food up to your room. Tea, coffee and water are available 24hrs as is front desk. We had no problem checking in a bit early and you get shown around the hotel and given all the info you could need. The hotel is not in walking distance to many places, so its good to take advantage of the free town car service - you do need to book your place though as it only takes 4 people at 3 times in weekday mornings. There are plenty of buses running from the hotel and the concierge coloured these all in for us on a map, which made it an ease. The hotel is very welcoming, very warming and relaxing. This was the only place in America we went that e felt completely at ease. There is a PC and you can print your boarding passes put there for ease. Would also recommend asking hotel to book you an airport transfer for 15D pp, as taxi's can rip you off.

Room Tip: we had room 302 and there were red/green parrots living in the tree outside our window. was great se...

Thank you very much! You've made our day with another 5 point review! So glad you discovered the green parrots too. For anyone wanting to know more about these delightful winged creatures (some of which have adopted the Queen Anne as their favorite boutique hotel) we highly recommend the wonderful book or movie entitled, "The Wild Parrots Of Telegraph Hill".
Perhaps there will be a sequel...

My daughter's doctor said that one of the very best Neurological Surgeons in the world was Dr. Mitchell Berger at the University of California, San Francisco. Even though it would be a costly and long trip, she decided that if she could get the best care there, it would be worth it. So she searched to find a hotel that would be comfortable, safe, nice, but not too expensive for us before and after her time in the hospital. After much research she decided on The Queen Anne. What a great choice!
We arrived from the airport a little earlier than their normal check in time but our room was ready. Alberto, at the front desk, took great care with her, making sure that she was seated while he did the paperwork, then had John, the concierge, take us to our room right away so that she could lie down and rest after our very early morning and long flight.
Our room was sumptuous, pleasant, and immaculate. Morning meant a delicious breakfast in a beautiful dining room with the sounds of multiple languages and accents hovering softly over the room. A new comfortable Lincoln Town Car was provided to take us to the UCSF Parnassus Medical Center. Rey, the driver, was as Alberto and John, very nice and seemed to go out of his way to take great care with my daughter.
If you look at my reviews on, TripAdvisor, you will see that I have traveled extensively and I found the Queen Anne to be one of the very best hotels/B&Bs that I have been privileged to visit.
On Alberto and John's days off Laura and Darlene continued the care and service that we had come to expect.
I do believe that these 5 should start a class to teach hotel employees throughout the country, the perfect ways to make guests feel safe, cared for and at home. A big thank you to them once again.

A delightful experience. This hotel exhibits old world charm and hospitality, with first class staff and service. After busy days exploring San Francisco, we looked forward each evening returning to our hotel to sit by the fire and enjoy our complimentary sherry.

Stayed here and don't regret it. Great breakfast and the service was amazing. One of those places where you can just unwind by the fireplace with a sherry (which is free) after walking all day. Not only was the hotel comfortable but it is in a prime location. I would stay there again and probably will. The only bad thing I can say is that the refrigerator in the room seemed to go off and on every few minutes, but that kinda added to the whole haunted hotel atmosphere lol

The hotel lives up to its photos - every nook and cranny is filled with furnishings clearly chosen with care and flair from antique markets; I doubt there is an antique left in the city.
Our afternoon concierge, John, was incredibly helpful, the hotel is situated on a bus route, and it is easy to get anywhere from here.
Our room was small but very comfortable; the hotel has a lift/elevator, and a parking area across the road if you're on a driving trip. A unique experience is the sherry and cookies time at 4.00pm in the downstairs living rooms.

Currently staying here, checking out tomorrow and what a great place to stay. The front desk folks are so nice and accommodating, I can't say enough about them. Wonderful neighborhood, peaceful and quiet, yet walking distance to fabulous restaurants and shops. The Queen Anne is just beautiful and I will definitely be returning. Sherry and cookies are awesome too!!
