This is a very nice Victorian building in a very decent location. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. Most of the furniture is old and worn out (not antique, just old). There are extension cords running all over in order to power the lamps ect. (hardly any place to plug-in a computer or charger). Say a small prayer when you get in the elevator - fortunately walking up the stairs is a good option. The decor is "I love Victorian, especially when I can decorate my whole place by shopping in second hand stores and making it look charming-ish"
The real message comes across at "Breakfast". The cheapest most poorly presented "food" I've had in a long time. There is granola and the coffee is ok. Those are the high points. Peanut butter and grape jelly on Wonder Bread is the theme here.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the rear where it's quite. Plan to have your breakfast elsewhere.

Thank you for acknowledging our nice building and location, and friendly staff. We had several antique chairs and couches reupholstered recently and our collection is in tip top condition. (Second Hand, haha! That's the quintessential definition of "antique".) Our elevator surely is a little quirky but very safe and inspected routinely. We love it for it's roomy interior that includes a couch, art, and a chandelier! Oddly enough, our continental breakfast received less complaints when it was just a coffee & danish. We've expanded it to include, hot and cold cereals, hard boiled eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, and an assortment of muffins, bagles, and breads. Starting this week, guests will be able to make their own delicious waffles. We are always trying to make things nice for our guests and do appreciate any suggestions you have.

My husband, two boys (11 & 13) and I stayed at this hotel in hopes of seeing a ghost. The hotel was cozy, charming and the staff was helpful and pleasant. We didn't see a ghost, but were taken in by the historic feel and great ambiance of the place. Nice cookies and sherry in the afternoon, coffee and ice water all day, great breakfast to get up and go! Great location, we walked to Chinatown, kind of a long walk but interesting sights along the way.

Room Tip: We got the Executive Suite on the 4th floor. The boys slept on the fold out couch in the living room and we had a queen in the bedroom.

We recently stayed at the Queen Anne while in SF visiting our daughter. The staff was very delightful and our room exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend the Queen Anne as an alternative to any of the major hotel chains.

This time we stayed 4 days at the Queen Anne, and I must say they did not disappoint. The staff was courteous, especially Alberto and ugh... so sorry I forgot the other young mans name. We did need to change rooms and they were as I said very accommodating, even moved the refrigerator for us because my husband had meds he needed refrigerated.
Sherry and Cookies were a VERY pleasant afternoon treat. And the breakfast was as usual, plentiful and fresh.
Now... one word of warning... If you drive your own car and park either on the street or in their parking lot, it is not secured and we had our vehicle broken into. Not the Hotels fault, upon check in they tell you to remove anything of value and lock your car. Well, apparently that is very good advice!!! They took very small things that can be replaced like my husbands prescription sunglasses and my regular ones and cell phone chargers etc. Nothing too important. It was obvious they were in a hurry, and they were looking for cash and small objects. Still it left us feeling vulnerable and a bit invaded. Probably so much so that we may not return... Which is still questionable because we do adore this little B&B! But still be wary!

Room Tip: Rooms next to the elevator are best to avoid

We entered a quiet residential area of San Francisco (Pacific Heights) and stepped into the lobby of the Queen Anne. A step back in time but a wonderful step. Antiques, beautful carepts, ornate working fireplaces, tea and sherry with fresh cookies. An open staircase, sittings rooms and high ceilings.
Our room featured a good size sitting room, a separate bedroom with an adjoining full large bath. A 2nd floorroom - in the corner. Quiet, clean and well appointed. 2 flat screens, WIFI, a writing desk, a fridge and microwave. All this for a reasonable price. The breakfast room and the complementary breakfast the next day was perfect!
