My wife and I found a beautiful Bed and Breakfast in the Pacific Heights district of San Francisco called the Queen Anne. The Queen Anne, located on Sutter Street, is a Victorian build in the 1890’s, and has just over 40 rooms. The Queen Anne offers a continental breakfast, afternoon tea and sherry (and cookies) and best of all, local area weekday town car service. Staff is friendly, engaging and very helpful. I found all of the above to be available at an extremely reasonable price. The only negative is the fact that half the rooms have no view. Although our room was beautifully decorated and comfortable, the view from our room was the alley and the building next door; and, you need to be careful because the people across the alley can look directly into your room. So if you enjoy staying in a Bed and Breakfast when traveling, check out the Queen Anne.

After several nights on our road trip in boring, conventional chain hotels, what a wonderful surprise the Queen Anne was! the decor was wonderfully over the top - draperies, overstuffed sofas, antique and repr dark wood furniture, wood paneled walls hung with tapestries - it felt like visiting a rich if somewhat eccentric maiden aunt. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The room wasn't huge But adequate and the Gilchrist & Soams toiletries were a nice touch. Breakfast was good and having tea and coffee available in the guest lounge 24 hours a day was appreciated. It was lovely to end each day with a wine (the hotel happily provided a corkscrew and wine glasses) in front of an open fire.
I sreally liked the ambience of the Pacific Heights area. A bus stop at the door makes it easy to get round town and the restaurants and bars of Japantown are a short walk away.
Loved everything abut this place!

Our room, and every public room, is full of history and its artifacts. The sitting areas, with 2 fireplaces, are furnished with authentic love seats, chairs, and tables. The lamps, although electric, look like they could have been made in the early 1900s. The staff was gracious and concerned about the quality of our stay. The free breakfast was tasty and generous and the coffee that is available 24 hours is among the best I've ever tasted. Every day at 4 pm, free sherry and cookies are served. The best thing about our stay is the overall look and feel of a luxurious bygone era. The worst thing was a less than luxurious bed, but given that, it was still very comfortable.

I booked my elderly mother for a stay at the Queen Anne last week. She was travelling solo, cross country, basically to say goodbye to her dying sister. I wanted her to be nearby to the care facility, in a hotel with top quality service. We found this in the Queen Anne. Michael and the front desk staff took extra good care of my mother during her stay. She loved her room and said everyone at the hotel made her feel great. She said everyone was so helpful to her and friendly. She loved the morning car service (sign up the night before) to get to the care facility each morning. She said that she would definitely stay there again if she goes back to San Francisco. I highly recommend this hotel. It was a great value, especially with breakfast included, nearby to our desired location, complimentary car service and spotless reviews on Trip Advisor. Can't say that about any other hotel in this immediate area that we reviewed. Thank you Queen Anne!

We stayed at the Queen Anne in May of 2011 for two nights. Our room was clean, had a comfortable queen bed and a working fireplace (room 212). The bathroom was small but adequate, no shelf or counter area for makeup, etc. The breakfast was a basic continental breakfast with coffee, tea, juice, hard boiled eggs, sausage patties, cereals, breads and muffins. The hotel's location was quiet, within walking distance to restaurants on Filmore Street. The housekeeping staff was helpful in locating and shipping a personal item that I left behing in the room. The first floor lobby had nice sitting areas with fireplaces. If you like old Victorian hotels, I am sure you would enjoy a stay at the Queen Anne.

We stayed one Saturday night at the Queen Anne while attending a concert in San Francisco. It was a quick walk to our venue (Yoshi's). This was our first trip back to the QA after being married there 10 years ago. It was just as beautiful as we remembered it.
The beds, linens and other room furniture are lavish. Given her age, the Queen Anne has been carefully attended to. We were in the 4th floor corner unit, and after retiring at 11pm there was no noticeable street traffic heard from below.
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The parlor is so inviting it makes you want sit and relax for a while. The breakfast provides a nice selection and comfortable dining in the salon.
The Queen Anne continues to be our favorite romantic hotel in SF!

We arrived from NYC during spring break and was not disappointed. The Queen Anne takes you back to its origin to 1890 with its Victorian architecture and lovely antiques. The staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were cozy and it is walking distance from Union Square and public transportation. I recommend purchasing the Citypass online before your trip, especially if your new to the city. You'll save almost 50% off 5 of San Francisco's most famous attractions. In addition we also took unlimited rides on the muni and cable cars with our Citypass which made our trip easy and enjoyable. I would definitely return to The Queen Anne B & B on my next trip! :)

Room Tip: 20 min from SF International airport
