“Location and great value”

As said by many others the location is good, just a short walk to Union Square where all public transport is in easy reach. If you ae not affraid to use public transport get a Muni Passport.

Yes the rooms are a little dated and small but they are clean and comfortable, I am a light sleeper i did not notice much noise, the bed was comfortable and there was a chair. Mind you we don't think we have seen a TV as small but a bigger one would have taken up more space.
We were expecting a really tiny bathroom as per other reviews but it was not that small although our toilet was round the corner which you had to squeeze round the bath to get to. Also the shower head is a bit low so if you are tall this could be a problem.

The breakfast was served in the hall which you could take back to your room, which once you got used to that it was ok as if you didnt feel like getting ready for it you didnt have to. It was enough for us to start the day sight seeing.
They had tea, coffee, water and hot chocolate in the lobby which you could help yourself to any time of the day which was a nice gesture.
The staff were friendly and really helpful, the free WIFI was a bonus and worked well.
If we were to go back to SF we would stay here again.

I stayed here for a convention at the Hilton and Parc 55 hotels. The price was reasonable, the free breakfast (delicious) and wifi were nice features, and the staff were always very friendly and helpful. I'm a light sleeper, but didn't have much trouble sleeping in a room on the highest (7th floor) facing a side alley. There's no AC in the room, so it can get hot during the day because you can't leave a window open with the fire escape right by it. But, the ceiling fan helped during mid-70's temps. This is on the border of an area that does not seem very safe to walk during the evenings, but I felt pretty safe as a female traveling alone and walking back around 8:30 each evening.

Room Tip: Room 709 is probably one of the quietest, and fairly good size for a SF boutique hotel.

I´ve been there alone for a Conference and felt very comfortable with the fact that it is in a safe area, close to the touristic attractions and reasonable restaurants. It´s old but charming, the staff is very nice, and it´s cheap for SF prices.I would stay there again if travelling alone.

A small boutique hotel centrally located near Union Square. The rooms are small but have high ceilings with a fan. We had twin beds which was a unique experience, but not a problem.
The bath room is tiny! but clean. The breakfast, fresh baked breads, rolls and real OJ, was served just outside our door. It's served like that on every floor. The front desk staff was very helpful. Not the most comfortable hotel we've stayed in, but really nice for an older, smaller hotel in the middle of a big town. Our fellow guests were from France, Germany, Spain and
several other countries. Very interesting.

Excellent hotel at a very good location not far from market st and the centre of San Francisco. The on site restaurant was excellent but reservations need to be made in advance since it is popular with non-residents. Helpful staff who can provide lots of useful information on local places.

Ok for its 2.5 stars rating. Stay there if you only plan to get to the hotel for sleeping.
Location: centrally located, not pleasant to talk around at night, though.
Room: small, but ok. Clean, but very old carpets.
Bathroom: the main downside. Ridiculously small.
Heating: turned on upon request. I didn’t see an air-condition.
Breakfast: on each floor. Basic.
WiFi/Internet: free and working well
Dining: let’s of options around, plus Fino (Italian) at the hotel
