The location is handy for the marina, restaurants, and all transportation. The free parking seemed safe. We requested and got a very large inside room that was totally quiet, and with a comfortable bed. But, the best attribute was a helpful, friendly desk clerk named Misty who made wonderful suggestions that improved our vacation immeasurably.

I really would have liked to give this a five-star review, had it not been for our check-out with Misty. She made my wife and I feel like we were intruding on her time. She even took a call on her cellular phone as she was in the process of checking us out. She did not ask us about our stay and was "busy" with other things it seemed that we felt that were somewhat of a nuisance. The room was nice and suited our needs as we were here to race in the Dragonboat races, but my wife and I will not be staying here again if this is what we are to expect in terms of customer service. It seems that things would be perfect for this perfectly located inn if they put a little time into ensuring that people who dealt with their patrons showed a little class.

The Cow Hollow neighborhood has a lot to offer and this motel makes it easy to enjoy. The motel isn't fancy but with nice, clean and big enough rooms. The Lombard side is a little noisy since it is a busy intersection and partying going on. It is convenient to the marina and Crissy Field for a nice walk. Don't miss an Italian deli/store on Chestnut for interesting food products and made to order sandwiches. Be sure to take a number there is always a line. The Aix Bistro is a wonderful restaurant also on Chestnut. You really can't go wrong here.

Room Tip: Ask to be off Lombard

Very nice and clean hotel. It is older, but well maintained and cared for. The neighborhood was great. Many wonderful restaurants close by, as well as groceries and drug stores. It was also conveniently near bus stops. Situated close to the Union Street Shops and the Chestnut street shops so shopping was excellent. It is in walking distance to the Marina District, the Presidio and Crissy Field. The rooms are quiet, nice and neat and the staff is helpful and attentive. I will be staying here again when I go back to San Francisco. I strongly recommend the All Star donut shop on the corner of Chestnut and Steiner. It is open 24 hours and has delicious baked goods.

Room Tip: Get a room furthest from Lombard Street for a quieter stay.

Nothing fancy here. Good sized room with a view of the GGB! No frills but it was quiet, clean and affordable. Lombard St at this end is very boring but Chestnut St is lively with lots of great wine bars, cafes and boutiques. It was a half an hour walk to Fishermans Wharf and great street transportation if walking isn't your thing!

Room Tip: Ask for an interior room instead of one on Lombard St.

This hotel was clean, and very reasonably priced for San Fransisco. The staff was friendly and helpful. Sometimes it can get noisy if you stay on the Lombard St. side, but all in all a very good place to stay. This place was recommended by people who stay there often, and we would definately stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to stay on the Steiner St. side, and the top floor.

This is a 'predictable' motor inn. Good sized rooms with clean and helpful staff. It is in a very good location and close to some good eateries, coffee shops (try Noah's bagels around the corner for breakfast) and good spots for evening drinks.Tourist Buses run nearby.
