Went to San Francisco for the 4th of July. It was so much fun. Went to the Gay Pride Parade. Loved it! Would go back next year just for that! Went to the night time Alcatraz tour-loved that-please reserve tics on line well before your visit-please bring comfortable shoes/warm socks, jeans and light jacket/hoodie. Walked every where or took bus or train. Go to Coit tower for a view. Walk across GG bridge. Take bus tour if Muir forest. Never encountered one unpleasant
person. Can't list all fun things we did! Incredible city!!!!

A very Italian area, very culturally rich, fun. Great for couples.
Cafes and restaurants fill this area and the quality of them is excellent.
Easy going, fun, enjoyable location. Located a short walk from Fishermans wharf and the downtown.
Prices very good.
Just get the sense of FREEDOM in this area, sort of embodies San Francisco.

Amazing restaurants, amazing views, amazing public transportation. Some friendly and out-going people, some pretentious and condescending people and pretty much liked them all regardless. It's a fairly liberal city in terms of politics and social values. The city is very much alive. You should take the time to visit attractions, and if you are a tourist, their hop-on-hop-off bus is a great value. But things you should try to do: see the Golden Gate Bridge either via vehicle, bike (rentals avail around the wharf and pier 39 areas), foot or boat. Do try to plan one tourist visit with a walk (in our case Chinatown and North Beach were both within walking distance for us so we did two walks). Do eat in our of their many fine restaurants.

Do think ahead on how long you will be there as there are more economical public transportation packages you can take advantage of.

Do expect to spend a bit more on average than you might normally for things, San Francisco seems to have a number of city taxes and just has big-city prices in general.

A great city to visit. Many attractions such as the cable cars and the wharf area. The bus tours are a great way to see the city and are good value. We waited in line almost 2 hours to get a cable car ride but it was worthit for the experience. We drove the 'crookedest street' in the world and that was also a blast. Our highlight was the Bay Boat tour with Red & White Tours. First class commentary all through the trip with free supplied headsets. Also were able to see the Terracotta Army at the Asian Centre and that was amazing. Now the downside. Some places see you as a license to print money. In particular we ate a place called 'Jacks' which in the Wharf area. Two sandwiches and two beers $55. The sandwiches were poor and the beer flat. On the other hand we ate a couple of times at 'The Blue Lite' on Union Street and it was great. Reasonable prices and super friendly staff.

I loved San Francisco. Beautiful city, great food. Chinatown was the largest and best I've seen here or in Canada. The Fishmans Wharf was interesting. Liked walking around the city. Parking sucks, so don't have a car! The BART transit can get you whereever you need to go if you're staying in the city. Airport is easy. I don't think I had a bad meal. Haight Ashbury is fun to stroll thru, and and Golden Gate Park is a must. Wonderful views and sights everywhere. It's one of my new favorite cities.
