A few block on the Grant street between the "Dragon gate"/Bush and Broadway. You got a presentation about everyday chinese life; souvenirs, food, weird vegetables, butchers, chinese printed newspapers, chinese typeface street signs...and that is enough. You don't have to walk uphill or downhill the crosssreets.

Looks a bit run down with many businesses closing down with one owner telling me “no good business after 35 years...everything 70% off..I give you good price baby”One other chap playing an Erhu (like a 1 stringed violin) played The Model by Kraftwerk for me so I have him 50cents and a discount card for Aldi.

Worth a visit for cheap little tourist gifts

Ps Gill no happy as she says “ they dinnae dae chicken fried rice with curry”

Don’t buy any San Francisco souvenirs until you’ve shopped here for them!!! So much cheaper and tons to choose from. Something for everyone and cheap, cheap !! Beautiful place at night but lots of shopping during daylight hours . A fun place to visit .

It is a real adventure to look around here! Would like to recommend to focus on the less touristy areas where you see the meats, medicines, etc being sold to Chinese people...

We walked around quite a bit of Chinatown. There is a great market on Stockton Street and some nice restaurants. It’s spread over a large area. An interesting neighbourhood.
