“Fun way to spend an afternoon!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

We spent our afternoon in Chinatown, walking aimlessly along the streets, finding little hidden gems, stumbling upon a tea tasting, and accidently lining up for the best egg custard tarts in SF! Chinatown is lots of fun to wander around. Golden Gate Bakery opens sporadically and has lines from opening to closing we just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Chinatown does have a part which is quite touristy, but if you keep walking up the streets and around the area, you will definately find the Asian community, and get a feel for the amazing way they have combined their culture with the west!

“Quirky and Interesting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

This would have to be the cleanest and most interesting China town in the USA. There is alot on offer here such and we were lucky enough to watch them make fortune cookies and tried authentic Chinese herbal tea. It has some beautiful buildings, shops and restaurants on offer and is a interesting place to explore for a few hours.

“As expected”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

Cheap stuff/junk. Not scary or sketchy. Felt like an attraction rather than Asian community. Good photo ops.

“Do the walking tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

This was our third trip to San Francisco Chinatown and we did the free walking tour as part of the Big Bus tour. Our tour guide Mark was informative and we found a different side to Chinatown that you don't see from Grant Ave. Totally recommend doing the walking tour.

“Same as Always”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

I was not overly impressed with Chinatown, San Francisco. Don't know if it is because my expectations were too high (as we were in China last Fall), but I found it quite boring. I would definitely take a walking tour next time, as this way, I think I would get to see more of the real SF Chinatown...and not just Grant Avenue.
