Nice neighborhood spot with great Italian food at modest prices. Love the thin crust pizza, excellent burrata salad appetizer. Very fair prices for food of such high quality.

We went to UVA Enoteca just a few nights ago. Nice atmosphere and decor. Food was very good but quite pricey. It is, however, a more formal restaurant than average for The Haight (actually it is located in the Lower Haight). Two pizzas, a mix spring salad and a chickpea salad appetizer, two small carafes of red house wine, a bottle of club soda and one dessert, came up to $100 before tip. Excellent service. Note that the menu displayed on Tripadvisor is not the most current menu.

I don't know how we found it but it welcomed us late on our first night in SF; a great pizza and excellent salads. Great atmosphere too!

I chose Uva Enoteca for (double) date night this week because I'd been meaning to go back and I had recently purchased a Living Social coupon. Our sangiovese wine was good and fairly priced. We sampled meat, cheese, and veggie small plates - they were all good, but nothing wow'ed us except for perhaps the formaggio de miele which was pleasantly soft and sweet. We shared the boar pasta which was very good as well with a flavorful sauce and a crunchy consistency due to the cheese and panko combo cooked in the skillet. For dessert we shared the chocolate budino with a granola square. The budino was delicious and rich, but the granola seemed out of place with the rest of our meal. It was more like something I'd eat for a healthy afternoon snack. After all, it was a granola bar. Even though we were enjoying ourselves, we had to wait longer than I would expect to place our order and receive our food. Warranted our waiter did check in to see if we had any questions and we weren't yet ready to order at that time, had I realized we'd have to wait another 5-10 minutes even to order wine, I would have kept him there until we were ready. Once our complete order was placed and our wine was served, we'd practically finished a bottle before our small plates were brought. It really should not have taken as long as it did to put slices of meats, cheeses, and prepared veggies and olives on a board and get them to our table. I was worried that with four of us we weren't going to get full on what we'd ordered. As it turns out, with the time we waited in between courses, our hunger was satisfied and our appetites decreased. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and answered our questions patiently and thoroughly and I really appreciated that he came by to top us off from a bottle of sangiovese that was "left over." He was great and deserves a stellar rating. The flow of the restaurant with multiple servers on hand during an only semi-busy night, not as much.

We really liked the flexibility and quality of this place. Great wines by the small carafe with good advice as to which ones work best with the food. Imaginative range of antipasti, with especially strong veggies, and then brilliant pasta. Relaxed and good service. What's not to like?
