“If it wasn't for the landmark attractions...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2014

Always wanted to visit this city and finally got a chance to. It was the unfriendliest city i've ever been to. Maybe it's just the way it is in a big city, people there are not helpful to tourist especially the MUNI (City bus) drivers. Everyone is in such a rush to get somewhere, watch out for cars while crossing the street, they will not stop. Even people walking towards you don't get out of your path. The attractions are as expected, Alcatraz tour was nice, the Golden Gate Bridge is a sight and Pier 39 has a lot of shops like the rest of the city. Save your money and don't by the City Passes they advertise, if you plan it well you can get from point A to point B with very little money. If you get on one bus it has a time limit (90 min. most cases) as to change or get back on the bus the other way. They fail to mention this to you, found this out through a waiter i asked at the Wipe Out Burger Bar & Grill (which i will be reviewing) who were the only friendliest people we encountered other then the folks at the Golden Gate Bridge Store. Will probably never go back, they get so many visitors i guess they don't need to be friendly in San Francisco.

“Great Experience - Recommended Tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2014

The Blue and Gold 90 minute "Escape to Alcatraz" Boat tour of the San Francisco Bay is well worth taking. The tour was very informative and the time passed really very quickly. We had a "Citypass" but were able to upgrade our 60 minute tour for the 90 minute one. You cover a large area of the Bay and circle the former Federal Prison on Alcatraz Island but do not tour the island. Some of the voice presentation was repeated so this is not a live presentation, but it was still extremely interesting and covered all the highlights of the Bay area.

“Oh, to be by the seaside”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2014

The San Francisco bay area is both beautiful and breezy. Don't be fooled by the sunshine, it can be cold once you get out onto the water. We caught a ferry from the Ferry terminal at the bottom of Market street, past Alcatraz to Sausalito. On the return journey we caught another ferry to Pier 39. There are a lot of bike hire places to ride this journey and get the ferry back, however, the queue at the end of the day at Sausalito meant there were hundreds of people on bikes trying to get back to the ferry terminal and return the bikes before 6 pm. I am not sure all would have made it on time. There was only so much space on the ferries for all those hire bikes, which look almost all the same.
