“What a day to be on the bay”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

On a relatively sunny day, we decided to take a ferry to Sausalito. We were lucky enough to see the America's Cup competitors practicing! The Oracle boat, with an appropriate entourage for Larry Ellison, passed by us several times, as did the Emirates boat. Lots of fun, sun, great photographs and a little bit of sunburn made a terrific experience. If you are coming home from Sausalito in the afternoon in the summer, queue up early for the return ferry or you might not make it, as there is quite a crowd!

“What a view!”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

The view of the bay from any vantage point will take your breath away--absolutely gorgeous. Fisherman's Wharf is the best so much to see, so many places to eat, and too many goodies to buy. If you are really adventurous take a boat ride on the bay --day or night both fabulous.Try one of the private boats along the pier for a quick hour tour for less than $20. + you can BYOB too.

“One of the world's best bays”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

Wonderful just to look at but even better to go across it - perhaps the best way is a trip to Sausalito which is one of the most interesting parts of the San Francisco area .

“San Francisco Bay”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

You cannot possibly visit San Francisco without at least seeing the Bay. But, do yourself a favor. Go out on the water. One inexpensive way to see it is to take either the ferry to Sausalito or Larkspur from the Ferry Bldg. There are also tourboats launching from the wharf area. Or, if you're really adventurous and know how to sail, you can rent sailboats in Sausalito and plan your own route.

“Windy Bay”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

We went on a Bridge to Bridge Cruise (Red and White Cruises) on the bay and it was very informative. It was an audio cruise and told you about all the places you were going past along the shores of the bay. Including a sail past Alcatraz.
It was pretty windy and cold though. I think San Francisco is like that all the time but the locals wont agree. Take a jacket. Well worth it, very informative.

The Blazing Saddles Bike Tour we did was very good and we rode past all the places that we had heard about on the Bridge to Bridge Cruise so that was a bonus. If you doo the Bike Tour beware there are some hilly bits and it is not as easy as they make out but it is very good, just take it at your own pace.
