“fishermans wharf San Francisco”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

Well to visitors to San Francisco fishermans wharf is a must. Pier 39 with it's kiss me kwik image and the wild seals that bask all around are a delight, it is easy to take a ferry to alcatraz , bay tours and other places from pier39 all are well worth doing. The hop on hop off bus ticket office is just down the road on the opposite side to the piers, well worth a ticket to see the city.
Whilst at the wharf a great place to eat is fishermansgrotto for the best clam chowder served in a large hollowed out sourdough roll, finished the chowder? eat the roll excellent!!

“Often windy but breathtaking views”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

A Bay cruise is never dull. We prefer the one that goes out through the Golden Gate and back, but the trip to Tiburon or Sausalito or Angel Island are also great. San Francisco's grid streets and landmarks make for great photo opportunities.

“Sisters' Outing”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

The Bay has so much to offer. Great sight seeing and wonderful places to eat. We chose a great day to go to the bay. As we got closer, the wind picked up and got a little cool on the top open level of the bus. Be sure to layer to deal with the weather change. The day was clear which made looking across the Bay excellent.

“Sunset Catamaran sail”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

Purchased this sail as part of a package with the Urban Safari. Overall, the sunset catamaran cruise was good. Because the weather had turned and fog started to set, we didn't get much of a sunset but was thoroughly entertained by the crew who served some light snacks and beverages.

The tour took us from Pier 39 and around the Bay to Sausalito and Kirby Cove...not to mention, going under the Golden Gate Bridge - with the horns blowing at twilight, makes an interestingly eerie experience.

I had great fun but it would probably be a better experience for me, in the summer when the day is longer and weather warmer. We did this tour in late October and I suggest that you dress warmly. Extra jackets are available on the catamaran but don't under estimate how quickly the San Francisco temperature can drop.
