“one week San Francisco”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

My wife and myself decided to spend a whole week in California with San Francisco as the base,we didn't want to drive our self so we ended up taking Bus trips .We arrived at SF Airport around noon,to early to check in at the old Regent Inn 5 walk from City hall we dropped our bags and went for a stroll, came across the famous cable car and ended up at Fishermanswharf there we had a nice lunch at the pier saw the sea lions then back to the Inn to check in.After a light snack we were downtown at a tour office and started looking for things to do.We booked for Tuesday a trip to Napa valley and Sonoma visiting 3 vineries, absolutely something you have to do if you like vine, in Sonoma you have to go for lunch to the Bistro, tired in the evening we went to bed early, because next day we planned to visit Yosemite National park early in the morning we were heading south and then across the central valley driving by huge farms were they plant almost everything we eat.The scenic ride up to the mountains and then down to Yosemite National just breathtaking we spent a few hours discovering a small part of the park worthwhile to spend a few days there next time happy and tired we arrived back in SF late .night had a quick nightcap and then sleep. we stayed in the city the next day went to see City hall had a tour which prompted us to rent the movie milk and enjoyed even more.In the afternoon we strolled through China town had a wonderful sushi lunch then proceeded to the wharf again were we had a late diner at the pier red snapper don't have to say more.Again after a busy day we were looking forward to see the Inn. Friday we took the tour down the coast Pebble Beach Monterey and Carmel the view of the ocean and the coastline the surfers unforgettable would recommend this trip very much. Saturday and Sunday we left for the 2 Day Double decker adventure a drive across the Golden Gate bridge to Sausalito and then you can add a feature to go and see Muir wood park huge Redwood trees just amazing. In the early afternoon we were back in SF it was the first day we could see the whole Golden Gate bridge not hidden by fog,we took advantage of the second feature and took a boat ride under neath the GGB and around Alcatraz island and on the way out and in you pass by the sea lions very close.after a busy day we had another nice dinner at the pier and arrived exhausted at the Inn .Sunday our last full day we went to china town one more time and then took the Double decker to see Golden Gate park had a stroll around Union square topped it off with a nice Steak dinner with a glass of vine toasted to the wonderful city of San Francisco.Monday morning we were heading to the airport with the BART another nice way to get around in SF.
All in all an absolute memorable way to see a bit of California.

“musee mecanique”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

I visited the musee mecanique, near pier 43 on fisherman's wharf, last night, with friends. It is free to enter, and has lots of old time coin operated machines, like the ones we used to find at beaches like Coney Island, such as the fortune teller machine. It was such fun to see them, and pay a quarter or two to operate them. This museum if fun for both adults and kids.

Pier 39 and the Seals are great and make the Bay Area very interesting. Great choice of boat trips and great walks along the Embricardo.
