“Man V. Food led me in the right direction....again”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2012

I love watching Man v Food purely because almost everything he eats looks amazing and the places are generally unique and fitting of the area he visits. I'll admit that some places he has led me too have been just OK, but Ikes Place in San Fran was amazing and I'm very happy I made the trip. Their online men lists what seems like hundreds of sandwich options, once in store it is more limited but they will make you whatever you say online as well. The location we visited in the Haight-Ashbury district was hard to find at first, it is very small and the interior offers very limited seating. Not a problem though, I had expected this from reading other reviews on the place. I suggest parking as close as you can and eating it in your car. Anyways, I finally settled on the Madison Bumgarner. It was phenomenal, to say the least. The bread they have is amazing, it had an amazing crunch to go along with the juicy contents. My two friends raved about their selections as well. I was worried this place would be a tourist trap, not at all, the service was excellent as well, very friendly, very chill and relaxed place to go on our Saturday afternoon in one of Americas most beautiful cities. The hipness of the menu and the venue very much match the attitude of the city itself, especially this part of the city.

“Huge!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2012 via mobile

I went to this place as I wanted to stop off at at least one of the man vs food recommended eateries while I was in America for the first time. I had the avacardo BLT & added chicken on sour dough, it was fantastic! Huge serve (way to much for my stomach) so I took it back to the hotel & polished off the ither half several hours later! It's definetly worth the stop off & I would recommend it.

“OMG sandwich heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

Decided to try this place after seeing it on man v food with Adam Richman.
To save a queue behind you, Try to decide what you want before you enter, you can see the sandwiches being prepared, the Dutch crust is a really nice bread to start the taste sensation with the just pile on what you want.
The included chips, (crisps (UK)) and lolly was a nice touch.
Inside there is a basic long bench and a few chairs to sit while you eat, but once you close your eyes and bite you can be anywhere you want to be. Where ever your heaven may be an IKE's will help you to get there.
This is a must do ******

“Go get yourself the sandwich of a lifetime”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Saw this place on man vs food and just had to go. In a suburb type area near a nice shopping street. Check out the website for sandwiches as they don't have enough room to list them all on their wall. Good selection of drinks and crisps. Long queue at lunchtime but moves fast and worth the wait. Pre-order to be quicker.
Absolutely the most delicious sandwich I have ever had. Does not keep though (bread goes soggy), so go hungry or else you wont be able to eat it all in one go!
