“This is a Great Vantage Point with Unparalleled Views of the City”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

I always like to find great views wherever I go, and San Francisco is one of those cities where you really want to be able to get a panoramic view of the City. Twin Peaks gives you just that. You will get there if you are doing the 49-mile drive, something that you should really consider on a first visit. Otherwise, get out your map or GPS and follow the twisty, windy roads up to the top of the peaks.

[Hint: There is limited parking, and it gets pretty crowded on weekends, so sometimes you may need to circle around a few times to get a parking spot.]

You will be rewarded by one of the commanding views of San Francisco. You can see all of the main hills, the Transamerica Tower, Coit Tower and other San Francisco landmarks in the distance.

[Hint: San Francisco is famous for its fog, and Twin Peaks is not immune to it, so if the fog is in, save this trip for another day. Usually the fog rolls out by mid-late morning, and back in toward the late afternoon, so plan to visit in between.]

As with many of my reviews, I suggest packing a picnic lunch, sandwiches, a yummy California burrito or whatever you like, along with some drinks, and find a secluded spot away from the main parking lot to kick back and enjoy the views while you eat a leisurely meal.

“Great View of the Area”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

When not hidden in fog, this gives you a stunning view of San Francisco and the bay area. We always take visitors and go ourselves when we drive to San Francisco. Prepare for a cold wind.

“Great Views of the City”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

We visited Twin Peaks on our tour, was fabulous views! Great place to get a nice overall shot of San Francisco! We went on a Monday was only a few other people there, was no fog and excellent to take photos. Even the drive up was very nice and great views.
