Awesome food with a great view almost anywhere in the restaurant. There is outdoor seating. We were able to walk right in and be seated. Our waiter was very nice and offered great suggestions which we took him up on. I would describe the restaurant as fine dining in a fun and casual atmosphere. This was our first taste of San Francisco and we loved it. I highly suggest eating here. It is located in the heart of Fishermans Wharf with lots of shopping around.

We went to the Fog Harbor Restaurant after coming beck from the Alcatraz cruise. It's near the front of Pier 39. Given the extremely high prices one finds for even bar grub, we thought we should at least get a nice meal for our money. So, we tried Fog Harbor. At 5:15pm Saturday evening, we were seated almost instantly. We had a friendly, helpful waitress, and warm sourdough bread was up very quickly. (This was nicely tangy bread, but not "overly sour". Our daughter loved it too.) The meals were very good. I had the mixed grill, and the shrimp, salmon and swordfish were all very good. My wife's sole and daughter's 'grilled shrimp' kids entree were also quite good. Nice that the kids menu had real food and not just fried kid-stuff.
The views are fantastic. We had a great sunset view of Alcatraz and the Pier 39 sea lions .

We had a table for two at the window at sunset which was beautiful! Our waiter was great at recommending great dishes. We had the fritters as an appetizer and they served a small loaf of fresh dread. We had a half order of Oysters and split the swordfish steak. It was a perfect meal. Great atmosphere and service.

For lunch I had a dungeons crab cocktail appetizer and a local beer. The wife had a sea food platter and a glass of water. The seafood platter was mostly calamari, with 2 small shrimp and a small piece of fish. The calamari was not fresh about every third piece was foul/skunky/bad. She tried to sniff out the bad pieces but just gave up and did not finish the calamari. The fish and shrimp were nothing to rave about. The crab cocktail was ok but not what one would expect from a seaside San Francisco restaurant. This was not worth the $71.

We searched for a restaurant in Fisherman's Wharf to have a good dinner. Settled on Fog Harbor after walking by and made a reservation for that evening. It was very busy when we got there for our 8:30pm reservation, but they kindly asked us if we wanted to be seated now or wait 5min for a table along the windows with a view. I thought this was nice of them to ask. The service was great, we were seated and eating our first appetizer within 10min! Tried the dungeoness crab, mango and avocado cerviche for starters, then had the Seafood Cioppino and Mixed seafood grill as entrees. All delicious, though the cioppino really stood out as the best!
