“Chocoholics heaven”
Reviewed July 6, 2014

Didn't make it to the top of the hill but that was ok since there were 2 shops below it. Sundae shop had lots of ice cream and sundaes and the Chocolate store had so many bags of candy, it was incredible. Huge bags of mixed candy bars; good sale so no reason not to bring some home to share with others; we did! Never saw so much chocolate in one place. The frozen frappuccino was delicious; something for anyone who loves chocolate.

“Whats not to love, chocolate!”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

Its a hike up the road but so worth it to the Ghiaradelli Square shopping area. You see the chocolate store and sundae station but further in is a bigger restaurant. We bought $20 worth of mix and max squares of chocolate and then ordered sea salt and caramel sundaes and others. So good. They give you a number, find a seat and they come looking for you. The best and a must when in San Francisco. Shops too around there are very nice. At night they have the propane heaters going and a fire pit outside as well.

“Ghirardelli Square”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

This place is right next to Fisherman's Wharf and just down the street from Pier 39. We were able to walk to all three places in one day and explore them all. They give out samples!! That was my favorite and they had a little shop where you could order ice cream that was made from Ghirardelli and we were stuffed so we didn't order anything but we did buy some chocolate for our 12 hour drive home and it was really good. Anyone who loves chocolate will love this place!! :)

“Decent desserts, very touristy”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

This place is usually on the list of 'must do' tourist spots in SF. So expect to wait in long lines among tourists. Despite the long lines, if you are a fan of Ghirardelli chocolate and want the ultimate rich chocolatey treat, this may be the spot for you (at least once in your life). Personally, I find it to be expensive with sundaes at the shop starting at $9-$10. I only tried a brownie which I found to be very rich and heavy. Decent, but not out of this world good. Overall, I would go there maybe once just to try something on the menu (if you love chocolate and have never been), but beyond that I would not seek it out as a must do. There is a fountain and little food court area in the Square that can be nice to sit by on a nice sunny day.

“Delicious”
Reviewed June 28, 2014 via mobile

Delicious sundaes- the brownie sundae is amazing! They give you 10% off your next purchase if you keep your receipt and a free chocolate every time you go in. Watch out, this can lead to a serious Ghirardelli habit...
